HELP.. getting to london from Birmingham way…..

i have my op booked for the 30th june. its at the london fitzroy hospital due to me living birmingham way I’m getting the train down with my boyfriend maybe the day before and coming home after my op. has anyone done this as if i book my rail tickets i have to be back for a certain time but obviously don’t know how long I’m going to be in the hospital? ANY help would be appreciated x

Im booked in for July and i am Leicester. We are getting the train the day before and then getting home the day after in case of delays on the day x

are you booking return tickets or just going to pay on the way back?x

If I was you, I wouldn’t Book to leave the same day. You don’t know how your gonna be after surgery or if your will be in a fit state to leave. I live in London and was planning to stay at home, but wasn’t phiscally able to. I was really poorly after my op. Book a hotel, then leave the afternoon the day after your op. Also if there is any problems and you have to go back to the clinic you won’t be able to if your all the way in the midlands xx

Jordan i’ve got return tickets, but for the day after.. We have a late check out and time to get slowly to the starion x

hi lauren, which hotel are you staying at? everything I’m looking at is soo expensive or either a hostel with bunk beds??x

We are booked into the hub by premier inn at kings cross – best price around at £122 for 2 nights for 2 people 🙂

ill have a look at that thanks, i think its because my op is on a friday so its classed as a weekend as to why its coming up so expensive x

Hey hun u could look into getting an open return they cost a little more but if ur not taking a Virgin train on the way back it should be cheaper. Prob best to stay in London until 12- 24hrs post op like others had suggested in case of complications that you can’t sort out whilst in transit.

Plus u may want to avoid rush hour time due to crowding and pushing. If u can book a seat that would really help and avoid a scrum! Fxx

We did the same, booked our seats in a quiet carriage too so it is less rush 🙂 and not rush hour or peak times 🙂 x
