Help Ladies! Fake Tan …

Hi Girls,

I am 2 weeks post op and was told by the nurse when my bandages were off not to apply fake tan for 6 weeks. Might sound like a silly question but aslong as i dont put it on my incisions am i ok? I am as pastey as anything so just want to apply it to my face, kneck and legs? Anyone else done this?

Heyy I’m sure your legs would be alright as long as you can manage but the reason they tell you this is so when you shower the fake tan doesn’t run onto your boobies incase it gets on your incisions I’m desperate too but don’t wanna risk it xx

I’m 8 weeks on Monday and I am going to cover myself in it Monday night so sick of being pasty lol knowing me I’ll go over the top and end up looking like tango woman lol

Haha I am desperate for a spray tan, I’m the same my face is a different colour to my body, I’m thinking of applying some myself on my arms n legs n just being extra careful when showering it off! Xxx

as long as if you dont need to shower it off then apply all you want, just keep it off your new assets and away from the incisions, if you need to wash it off, wait until your all clear, as the risk of infection with fake tan is higher, and it can also leak into your incisions and dye them, leaving them coloured for life 🙁 xx

Wish I’d read this before I covered myself in it n Thursday night! I’ve checked though, and everything looks ok I think. Didnt know it could colour the incisions, omg 🙁 x

I know no0108 i thought the same! As bad as it sounds i would risk infection side of things because i have healed well and would be careful but the thought of it staining my scars forever puts me right off!!! I only use dove moisturiser with a glow though so not as bad as fake tan is it ..

Miss V… I just googled it to see if there was anything helpful…. Haven’t found the helpful stuff but I did find this… Quite funny!!
