Help! pain med advice

Rigjt so im 3 days post op, its sunday and ive ran out of co-codamol that i got given, can I take ibuprofen now? Ive got OTC paracetamol but i dont think they will have any effect xxx

Take the paracetamol and ibuprofen together, they work best for pain when taken together! Xx

Also were you told not to take ibuprofen and cocodamol together because you can? :s co codamol is codeine and paracetamol combined and ibuprofen is a non steroidal anti inflammatory med so can definitely been taken at the same time as co codamol xx

Hey hun, you can take the ibuprofen as well as the paracetamol. You can take them at the same time. Eat something, then take two ibuprofen, and then two paracetamol. Or you can wait and take the paracetamol after a couple of hours. Or you could go see your GP and ask them for Naproxen. It is a painkiller/anti-inflammatory (relieves swelling). It was a life-saver for me when I was about 5 days post-op and was in unbearable pain. xxx

Just be careful with the ibuprofen if you’re taking two tablets make sure each tablet is only 200mg, I was prescribed ibuprofen 400mg in one tablet so if you took 2 you’d be taking 800mg each dose which is too much! A lot if my patients forget that! #nurseproblems xx

I didnt get told anything I just knew u couldn’t take ibuprofen 2 weeks before the Op but they didn’t say anything after.
With it being sunday i cant make Apt with doc for more but I already have the ibuprofen n paracetamol, ive had naproxen before there good so i might see if i can get some of them coz the co-codamol didnt help i was taking 2 every 3 hours lol, Its just my right boob thats killing me ive not felt a thing in my left lol xxx
