Hi girls, so I had my op today at around 2pm and I am in so much pain right now. Even lifting my head hurts. It’s bearable if I don’t move but when I go to the toilet I wanna cry! I don’t think I’m a wimp either I’ve had 3 babies.
I really didn’t expect it to feel this bad. And I’ve taken all the pain killers.
I’m staying overnight at Fitzroy tonight and cannot sleep at all.
Will I feel better soon?
Sorry if this scares anyone, when I asked the nurse if this is normal she said everyone reacts differently.
Thanks, Vicky x
Each day gets better i felt ok and expected worse but esch morning i feel better hang on in there
Thank you Louise. Hopefully I am just being impatient! Just didn’t expect this pain xx
Hi Vicky!
I was the exact same, I really underestimated it. I thought “oh I have a high pain threshold, I will be fine” ended up in the worst pain I’ve ever felt.
I was also projectile sick from the medication and nurse told me to come off at 4DPO.
I know everyone reacts differently, but honestly. Nothing could have prepared me for it.
I felt a million times better on day 7, just try to do as little as possible for as long as possible. I now have zero pain at 3WPO.
You are early days too and could feel completely different tomorrow.
Try get some rest 🙂
Happy healing! Xx
Also I haven’t had drains out yet – will this make a difference? X
Thank you carol-Ann that’s very reassuring. That must have been horrible being sick poor you!
I’m glad I’m not the only one then, I thought I would feel fine!! Totally unprepared as well.
I was just reading your post and yours look great!! Your incisions don’t look bad at all either.
Thanks and good luck with yours x
I was the same. I have a high PT and really thought I’d be ok. I was actually shocked at how bad I felt when I came round
I also stayed overnight at the Fitzroy and I’m so glad I did!!!
I also felt incredibly sick when I came round and the whole following day.
A 4 hour drive home didn’t help, but I just slept.
Hope you feel better soon xx
Thanks Lou. I’m really glad I stayed as well. Can’t imagine travelling home yesterday!
Did you, I haven’t had the sickness so I’m lucky! Feeling a bit better that yesterday thank god! Just shaky. Can’t wait to get home now xx
Hey Vicky, it’s deffo normal I was in awful pain for the first 4 days couldn’t do anything for myself but after that I started to get better. Just keep dosing up on pain killers and icing your boobs helps keep swelling down which will reduce pain too. I’m 10dpo today and went back to work but had to come home at lunch time as I’m still very sore. Everyone heals differently so just rest as much as you can and don’t do anything that is a strain. It’s good to have a little walk around the house every couple hours.
Hope you feel better soon xxx
Ah thank you jess. I definitely feel better than yesterday but still very sore. Think I had a massive panic last night as really didn’t expect to feel so bad! How long did you do the ice thing for? Sorry you are still sore. Did you have unders? Hope you feel better soon too xxx

I used ice like 24/7 up until about 6dpo. No I had Partials but I’m a massive wimp lol xxx
I had unders and to be honest I am a wimp but expected to be worse than I was. I think I was lucky, I managed to come off codeine pretty much on day 2 but I am still taking paracetamol and ibuprofen. The antibiotics have made me feel worse. I managed to go out for my first short walk on day 3 then did 3 miles on day 4 and done another 3 miles today. I am totally shattered now though. I usually workout 3-4 times a week so I think walking has done me some good. Just take it easy and every day does get easier. The ice packs across the top of the boobs is a lifesaver and am doing this every night when I get in bed at least.
I used ice a lot too. It really helped in the first few days
Hi Vicky, you’re not alone in there 🙂 I’m POD5 and still in pain. I had unders and I was so surprised how many girls felt so good after a few days, thought something is wrong with me.
I still can’t get up by myself, lift my hands or get dressed alone so make sure you will get some help the first few days. Hope your pain will go away soon, hang in there! Xx
