Help please – day one post op

Had my surgery yesterday morning which went really well. I didn’t leave the hospital til 8pm as didn’t feel quite ready. Since being home I am keeping up with meds every four hours and although the pain is bareable I am struggling with ice. It helps so much but it keeps leaking through the sand which bags and I know I can’t get the strapping wet. I have a long drive today (4 hours) and if anyone has any suggestions for ice that would be amazing!!! Xxx

Gel packs are the easiest thing as there’s no mess or leakage. They’re around £5 each on eBay and if you buy 2 sets you can chill one set whilst using the other.

But I saw a great idea on Instagram yesterday – nappies.
Soaking them then freezing them.
It’s not going to help you I’m aftraid for the journey though
