Hi girls,
So my boyfriend said he’d be able to take me to and from my op and take a week off work just to help when I first have my op cause i’ve heard off some its hard to go to the toilet and get off the bed and simple stuff you need arms for aha.
The offer was lovely and I really appreciated it, now this might not be a possibility because of his new work, I will find some sort of transport somehow but as for having someone with you for first few days.. is this essential in any PO gals experiences?
Hi Daisy,
I think they recommend that you have someone with you for the first day but after that I think it completely depends on how you feel 🙂 are you having unders or overs?
I had mine done just before Christmas so that I’d have someone around but I was relatively self sufficient. Mostly because my boyfriend has no idea how to cook anything that isn’t cheese on toast!
I spent the first few days using my foot to flush the toilet because I couldn’t push down and I needed a little help getting out of bed in the mornings but if he can help you before he goes to work that might work? Xx
I had my partner off work to help me with the kids, I have a 1 year old and a nearly 3 year old. I just needed him for picking them up but I could do pretty much everything else myself apart from reaching high cupboards. Just make sure you don’t have any necessary things In high cupboards and you should be fine. Oh and he also washed my hair over the bath for me at 3dpo. You definitely won’t be able to drive for a week either! Xx
Thanks Emily, I’m having unders which I thought were fine but a few reviews of different recovery stories just had me a abit worried I wouldn’t be able to get up or flush the loo , but sure it will be fine il just get him to give me a push in the morning aha x x
Thanks Katie, although the idea of my fella washing my hair over a bath sounds like a soggy bathroom aha xx
Me and my boyfriend stayed in a hotel the night of my surgery, then we went home the next day and he went to stay at his mums with our son for two or three nights so I was by myself three days and I was fine 🙂 x
Hi I had unders yest, and can’t do anything myself! Didn’t think it would be this hard to move! Lol but saying that I ain’t in any pain as such just ache really bad x
Yeah, my mom has had hers done and she was fine but she’s also had 5 kids so she’s a tough cookie aha fingers crossed its not too bad n might do a bit of food prep and put things I need below shoulder height xx
HI I didnt have anyone with me, but I did have use of my arms not that I used them as such. If you have strong tummy muscles and your bed sit up support and v cushion you wil be fine getting in and out of bed, going to the toilet was fine too. When i needed to go down stairs i learnt against the wall to walk slowly down. Sadly I was sick for 24hrs the next day so I had to get some help over that evening.. but other than that I was on my own, my friend came to help me get dressed for work on day 3.. x
I will also say that I wasnt expecting any pain yet I found it worse then giving birth.. the pain was horrendous for 5 days then it began to get slightly better. I have a extremely high pain threshold too. I had unders.. walking every ten minutes hourly helped ease the pain as did lots of sleep and pain killers .. x
That’s pretty good going, back at work in 3 days! I only work in an office so booked the week off & ouch best get stocked up with ibuprofen then x
Hi I had unders on Friday with an uplift too and have been totally surprised by my capabilities! I’ve just sat on the sofa every day moving regularly and watching every chick flick! I haven’t taken the pain killers just the occasional paracetamol mostly for the back ache of sleeping upright! ( they don’t recommend ibuprofen as it thins the blood) Everyone has a different pain threshold you know your own body but just take it slow and you should be fine! Good luck! Xx
I was given paracetamol and Ibuprofen from the surgeon as I cant take cocodemol .. I took for several weeks. Yes I had to go to work, but after a week at work I had a weeks holiday so I got through it, my team workers were great and made sure I did not have to do anything. We still laugh now at me having a nap in the cupboard at lunchtime x
oh you cant pull or push anything so make sure you have plenty of water or bottles open for you x
Thanks Ann that’s so good to here, congrats on the new boobs! kinda looking forward to watching the whole of my Netflix for a week aha xx
& ah that’s good they had your back and you still got your rest Sabrina, my week off is in the mist of Good Friday and Easter so got a few extra days off so hopefully should be bit more myself (fingers crossed) x
Hi girls, wondering if anyone has had this. I am now 3 weeks post op and this morning I have woken up with this sharp pain in my right boob below the boob towards the centre of chest (hope that makes sense) the pain is ok when sitting down but when I walk or move it’s sharp and sort of feels like a stabbing pain. Phoned the nurse and she said that was normal but said go to my GP if I am worried. My pain has been fine for about a week and it has just come on… I’m not sure if it’s were my implants are dropping as I was only a small size A before or maybe my boobs aren’t numb anymore this is why it’s painful due to nerves repairing.
Any advice or tips would be really appreciated. Thank you xxx
