Holiday 5 weeks post op

Hey Girls,
i am going on holiday just over 5 weeks post op, just wondering if i get a supportive bikini with no underwiring and no excessive stitching where my scars will be, whether it will be ok to wear for a couple of hours in the day??? i will obvs wear scar sheets over my scars to stop from burning ect. Also would i be ok to get in the pool to cool down – obvs not 50 lengths twice a day !!?? xxx

You may have to ask your nurse about the pool! I know you can’t have a bath till after your 6 week check up but maybe if you scedule an appointment for abit before so she can check your incisions! Sorry can’t help with the bikinis though I’m only 1 week and 4 days post op xxx

Ok thanks! Hopefully will be ok so I don’t get awful tan lines wearing a massive sports bra by the pool! Will ask if I can get an appointment the day before I go!

If you get a really soft fitting bikini that doesn’t rub your incisions and covers them from the sun I can’t see a problem! Well I had my strapping off on Friday which was my 1 week post op check but have to go back tomorrow for them checking again as she had to re-dress them as one side hadn’t healed as well as it should have! But she told me it’s nothing to worry about just takes a little longer sometimes! I’m just dying for a proper shower lol! Xxx

Yeah that’s what I’m gonna do I think aslong as I get the go ahead from the nurse! Oh rite! Are you in much pain? Xxx

Yeah well fingers crossed for you! Not anymore no, first 4 days were bad I’m not going to lie! I couldn’t do anything the slightest movement hurt! Just make sure you have help. Now I can do pretty much everything myself but I’m holding back as I don’t want to do too much as it’s still only early days! I can still feel abit of pressure on my chest but that’s it, oh and I still can’t lift my arms full up but that’s normal xxx

Oh that’s good! I have 10 days off work and someone with me for 4 of them so hopefully I will be ok! Hope I heal quick will be devastated if I struggle on holiday! Xxx

Well I’m not even 2 weeks post op and I feel fine jut abit bruised! You’ll be fine on holiday it’s just whether you’ll be able to go fully in the pool or not! I’m sure if you ask the nurse she may look at the scars before and tell you if it’s okay to go in the pool. Yeah take full advantage of the help and rest, the less you do the quicker you will recover xxx

In the same and this is going to be one of the first questions I’m gonna ask my surgeon on wed. X
