Did anyone else have to stay in a hotel after there surgery as it was too far to travel home. I have got high gate hospital and I think it’s about 1hr 30 mins from my home. So my pc said I have to stay in a hotel. Why is this. Is it cause of any complications and you will be nearby. I would really want to get home though.
I am around 2 and a half hours from my op hospital, my pc never recommended it. Though I can see why it would be better x
I didn’t stay in a hotel but they have some nice ones around Highgate if you do stay xx
I didn’t stay in a hotel either just drove straight home from the Highgate to Bristol just made sure we stopped more than we would usually and drank plenty of water to keep hydrated although I pretty slept for a big chunk of the journey xoxo
I hope not, Im the same as you and live 1hour 30 mins away. I wasn’t told I would have to during my consultation xx
Thank you for reply girls. That’s strange why no other pc has said it. I would prefer to go straight home as I have a 12 yr old daughter and a little dog that need looking after plus its more money to pay out. Wonder if I can get away with just going straight home
xx
Hey
My pc did tell me its better to stay close by just incase and go home in the following morning! Staying with the hospital is very expensive but i found a hotel close my hospital which is 5 mins away (driotwich hosp) and it only cost me £55
Better to be safe then sorry! xxx
Hello Charlotte yeah it is better being safe then sorry. Just hard to find someone to look after my daughter and dog. I am sure it will be fine. Xx
Yeh thats understandable, good luck for your day whenever it is x
The nurse on my pre op said that I had to be within an hour of the hospital for the first night in case there were any complications, so I am booking a hotel near the hospital. Not Ideal, I wanna go home, but I would rather do what they advise. I think it is to do with getting over the general anastetic. X
Hey, It says to stay about an hour away in your MYA pack, I stayed at the Whetstone Travel Lodge which is about 15 mins from Highgate, it was really good and I slept really well. I have 3 cats at home and got my friend to feed them. Good Luck x
