Ive got my op on the 19th March, 18 days away ekkk!!! And was just wondered wheres the best place to stay near Highgate? We will be driving up and getting a taxi from the hotel/B&B to the hospital and back. So need somewhere quite close. Any help would be great, thanks 🙂
hi hun, just google it or use travelrepublic.co.uk. lots of hotels within 15 min drive to choice from xxx
Hiya, I had my BA at Highate on Wednesday and I stayed at the Holiday Inn Golders Green. It’s about 10 mins from the hospital and £10 in a cab. Breakfast was nice, they do bar snacks like burgers and nachos or they will order a take away for you. No complaints really, nice and clean only down side I guess was having to pay for WIFI. Good luck! x
Thanks hun. Ill look into them. Want somewhere comfortable when i can hopefuly sleep the night before and sleep the night of the op!! That seems good for a cab price considering your in London!! EEkkkk how did it all go? xx
Yeah all went well thanks, can’t believe its all over with, just hope recovery is ok…just worrying something will go wrong. I would recommend staying in a hotel the night before, my admission was 11am but stayed at the holiday inn the night before, just made it all as less stressful as possible, had a cheeky take away in the hotel room, a good sleep then a stress free quick 10 minute drive to the hospital. Boobs done then a quick cab journey back…oh and check out is 11am. xx
Yeah i think we will go up the night before just to make sure were there. Would hate to get stuck in traffic or something!! And i like the idea of the take away the night before!!
I bet it feels amazing finally having them done! Ive had my date booked since November and its almost here!! Im guessing the stressing after is only natural. Just take it easy and get all the rest you can. The first fue days of healing are the most important, so my PC told me. xx
Hi Georgina,I stayed at the Holiday Inn Golders Green on Weds night too after having my nose done, would def recommend it too as it’s cheap and comfortable 🙂 They must get so many Highgate patients there, no-one batted an eyelid at my cast and bruises, lol! Super close to the hospital for peace of mind during your first night & there’s a good fish & chip shop nearby for late night munchies, hehe xx
Hi girls I know they recommend you to stay in a hotel night after op but I’m unable to as have no transport the day after!!any1 not stay in a hotel after?home is about a 2 hour drive from highgate!xxx
Im under the impression that you get discharged the day after the op, so you would need to stay local?? I might be completely wrong, so hopefully someone who is more helpful will comment! lol x
Hiya, I was also advised to stay in the vicinity of the hospital for at least 24 hours after the op – but I dont think I am going to be able to do this at the minute (long story lol!) But I am staying in the highgate for 2 nights as I am having a BA and full tummy tuck at the same time. Going to look into it though – always better to be safe than sorry! x
Depending on admission time I think I will stay in a hotel the night before. I only live 45 mins away from Highgate but dont have any transport in. A friend has kindly said they will pick me up after but it was touch and go whether I was going to have to taxi back on my own and i know they dont like that. Im hoping for an early surgery so that I can just go straight from hotel to surgery and be out at a reasonable time xxx
