    Hi girls,

so I really would like to go on holiday and get some sunshine in the next few months. I am now coming up to 5 weeks post op in a few days.

Realistically I would want to go on holiday anywhere between 9 and 17 weeks post op.

When did you all go on holiday after your implant? Did you find anything uncomfortable being in the sun ?

I have read that incisions should be covered in high sun cream and you should wear plasters on them?

Also were you allowed to go swimming etc?

    Thank you !! xxx

Just come back from 2 weeks in the Caribbean
10 weeks post op when I went.

I used a thick factor 50 baby stick sunblock for my scars, that lasted all day even after swimming and sunbathing – it was still on my scars when I took my bikini off at the end of the day.

I used factor 50 on my chest for the first week, then factor 30 (and I’m dark skinned!) but didn’t burn my boobs once – which I thought may happen because of the stretched skin.

Lol one thing I did discover……implants hold the heat!

@louisem thank you lovely I hope you had a nice time 🙂
I will definitely look into the baby stick sunblock if I go away 🙂 Did you put plasters on your incisions too or just the high sunblock?

I have heard that implants hold heat for longer and also heard in the cold they can be colder than the rest of your body haha!

    xx

@hollsssavery thank you lovely, ye I was told 6 weeks is ok for longer haul flights and to go on holiday when I had my consultations. I just worry about my incisions with the uv as I don’t want to make them go darker permanently! x

    I had a lovely holiday thanks x
I was worried and did ask about plasters but my PS said no as it could aggravate the skin in the heat.
The thick sunblock worked just fine – and I tan easy as I have Olive skin (I currently look like I’ve been dipped in marmite!) lol
