How long does bloating take to go !!

How long does bloating take to go ? Boobs are fab doing ok but my belly is awful 🙁

Oh my god it’s awful isn’t it! I’m now 5dpo and since day two I’ve looked (no exaggeration) 6 months pregnant! It’s not even a squishy belly that I can breath in, it’s sold. I hear it’s some sort of fluid build up from constipation from the pain killers and anaesthetic, but I have been to the loo (sorry for the detail) so can’t understand why my belly isn’t going down.
I stopped taking the Codrydamol on day 3, and yesterday and today just been on paracetamol which is supposed to help, so fingers crossed it goes down, because currently my belly is sticking out more than my boobs!!! Xx

Yep I feel your pain too & like goldie I look pregnant too!! Feel like screaming! 8 days on and while it’s went from 9 months pregnant look to 6 months pregnant look my belly still sticking out from my boobs I’m going 2 see nurse this afternoon so I’m going to ask her about it I won’t put any pics on here of my boobs coz of how big my belly is it looks awful & may b too much info but I have been 2 loo numerous times now & it’s making no difference?? X

Yeah I will let you know what she says 🙂 I’m sore at top of belly feels bruised and down sides and yeah totally stealing the limelight!! I’m also worried my boobs look too big hoping they go down a bit 2 ?? ???? X x

Yeah my belly is sore at the top too, I think that the muscle getting sore from trying to pull myself to sit up all the time as I still can’t use my arms.
Also I have the opposite worry that mine are too small! I had 300cc because I didn’t want to look sill as I’m so petite, but now seem to have the typical ‘bob greed’ wishing I’d gone bigger as I know once the swelling goes down they will shrink a bit :/ I’ve read so many stories though about them shrinking after swelling, then getting bigger with the drop & fluff, so who knows what I’ll end up like lol! What size did you have? Xx

I’m now 12 days post op lovely and I still have a little bloating but it’s definitely gone down a lot!
I think it’s the mix of anesthesia and pain meds. I’m not really taking many pain meds now just the occasional paracetamol as I am still feeling pain but want to try to take as few as possible x

@goldie I had 400 overs and when I got them done at first I thought they don’t look very big but took my bra off last night & hubby said Jesus they look massive he took pics & showed me and I thought the same they look big and that’s with a mighty swollen belly he said imagine how big they gonna look when your belly goes down!!!!! I’m worried as like u say they say when hey drop & fluff get bigger!!!!! Didnt want a Dolly Parton look 🙁 x x

@angiepants Lol Dolly Parton!! I’m still confused by the drop and fluff thang, I get the swelling from the op, and get that they then de-swell, but why do they then get bigger again???!
Can’t wait for my belly to go down, when I’m sat I look like a Buddha, would send you a pic just for the comedy value, but don’t know how to send private pics do you? Xx

Thanks @eeviefox, can’t believe after 9 days you still have the swollen belly, it’s so uncomfortable isn’t it! Hope it goes down soon for you hun. I’ve eased off the pain killers too today, just had a couple of paracetamols this morning and that’s it. Still very sore tho but hinting the painkillers are creating their own problems on top. Xx

@goldie hi I’ve been to see nurse & bloating is totally normal & takes as long as it takes to go so she just said as long as u r opening your bowels, I’m so gutted as my stitches have healed well on one side but the other has one that is open so I have to wait another week before I can shower! Honestly I feel like I’m crawling now was so upset & I have a temperature which is making me a bit on edge thinking I could end up getting an infection, so stressed out! X x

@ goldie sorry just seen other message haha I know is so confusing about how they change ?? Buddha lol I know what u mean tho it’s awful isn’t it & no im rubbish with technology I have to get the hubby to help with that stuff, my boobs didn’t look as big when I seen them properly today with strips off so feeling a bit better about them now x x

@angiepants Oh no! Well the showering thing is not nice so you must be fed up, I’ve just been having shallow baths everyday & my partner holds up my arms to wash & shave my armpits (bless him lol), but it’s making me feel clean still so maybe just do that for now if you can’t shower.
Sorry to hear you have a temperature, as long as you’ve been taking your antibiotics you shouldn’t get an infection, may be something totally un related like a cold coming? Try not to worry just keep in touch with your nurse. Xx

Oh no! This bloating sounds awful 🙁 I’ve got a work event 2 weeks after my op and I am really worried! I am worried about how I will feel and also what the hell I can wear that covers the sports bra, spelled boobs and my bloated belly… it’s a formal ball so any suggestions greatly appreciated! I’m thinking binbag…

That should have said swollen boobs haha!

It’s so hard to get anything to cover these sports bras, maybe. Something with a high neck, swing style dress as they are floaty on the bottom so will hide the bloating.

I seem to be ok but the minute I eat anything that’s it , I’m gong to try and get some rennie’s like some one above and see if they work x

Yeah I was thinking some sort of high neck floaty dress Amelia. Oh dear…. what we girls put ourselves through! I don’t know if this will be any good to you, but when I get bloated I drink the Slimtea that you get in Holland and Barretts in the green box. Drink it at night and it usually sorts you out in the morning 😉
