How long is the op?!

Just out of curiosity, how long are you under the knife for?
How long do you usually have to wait before you go through to theatre and why do some of you have to stay overnight?

Hiya I was under the knife for approx an hr. I had to wait about 5 hrs which wasn’t fun, I was sooo hungry and I was last in. Wasn’t impressed with MYA then but I was an overnighter cos my fb had to work. I was glad I stayed cos I felt sick after coming round and the nurse gave me some tablets to help x

The waiting is the worst bit I can imagine, I doubt i’ll be able to eat anything feeling sick with nerves! Glad it all went well for you and thanks for your comment! Want my bf to be there so he will have some waiting around to do by the sounds of it. ha xx

I was done in around 45 mins (that’s not including putting the cannula in my hand which took a while as my veins there aren’t very close to the skin haha) xxx

oh dear, ouch!! Lol Last time I had a blood test the nurse had to wait ages for my veins to show up so i might have a similar issue as you @jesspixie !! xx

When I had the op, one man was squeezing my wrist and telling me to make a fist and then release it, while another man was tapping my hand trying to get the veins up. It was so funny, took about 15 mins but I told them I didn’t want the cannula on the I side of my elbow as I had a bad experience with it there. Good luck 🙂 haha xxx

I had to wait ages too as the surgeon was running really late. My admission time was 3.30pm but didn’t go to theatre til 9.30pm! Was back in my room just over an hour later and had my dinner at midnight lol!! I was starving by then. Didn’t feel sick at all and was fully dressed by 8am. The nurses were shocked lol!

My admission time was 7am, I went down around 9 and it took 45 mins! X

How long after your surgery were you allowed to go home ladies xx
