I’m going for surgery on Fri 22nd for BA unders but I have a 5 month old daughter. Has anyone else been in a similar situation if so how did you manage, how much help did you need after and for how long?

I really dont want to be too much of a burden on anyone.

I’m 3 days post op and can hardly manage a thing at the minute it would be great if you could get some help with your daughter as you are going to be very limited no lifting for 2 weeks so if you have family and friends that will help out don’t be afraid to take the help xx

Definitely for the first week and especially I the night time. Probably a bit personal, but how quickly did you heal after having baby regarding any tears, uterus going back down etc

My daughter’s dad is going to help out in the first week, really hope I’ll be ok after that. I’m really not good at relying on people (i fell down the stairs 6 months pregnant because I was decorating up a ladder)

Hi Janet, it went down really quickly, I remember the midwife saying it had and that was within the first week. My stitches healed fairly quickly too and I was out doing the school run a couple of days later. x

You’ll be absolutely fine then nat. Don’t push it, have a week at least but I reckon you’ll be fine after that. I’m no expert but I heal really quickly and I was fine after a couple of days max. Would be concerned about picking up the baby though. That’s something you really need to avoid for a week at least as you might pull your stitches. Who you going with? All do different re: bandages, type if stitchesvetc

I hope so, I will make sure I dont try to do too much, would hate to make things worse. Will definitely avoid picking her up for the first week (will be hard to do).

Will be travelling with my bf, hope he knows what’s in store for him for a week!

Dr schiavone is the surgeon. x
