Hi guys I’m having my op on the 22nd of December, on Christmas Eve I’m going out for a family meal and Boxing Day which will be 4 day after I will be going to my boyfriends family house, will I be able to be up and about or completely bed bound?
Hi Georgina,
You wouldn’t be bed bound but be prepared to be uncomfortable, achy & tired. I had a baby shower 5DPO & I struggled to sit on a restaurant chair for 2/3 hours. I thought I’d be okay but everyone is different & I had quite a bit done. Try to move around as much as you can without over doing it & just listen to your body.
Xx
Hi Georgia,
I’d suggest regularly getting up and moving about to keep everything loose. I had mine done on the 28th, it’s the 30th today and it’s probably the worst day so far for me (apart from the day of surgery)
But I find if I have a nap or stay still for a while it’s a lot worse when I try to move.
Depends if it’s overs or unders too. I had partials, overs will be a lot easier from what I’ve read.
It’s not absolutely unbearable though, you’ll be ok. Keep moving gently and just take it easy! You’ll love them though, good luck 🙂
Day 3-4 for me were me worst days. Initially I felt ok then felt awful across those days. I felt better after day 5-6 and was able to go away for the day but was still uncomfortable st times.
I’m so worried of the recovery I just hope it’s not to unbearable I hope I can go out and about just not over do it and stay in the same position to long I guess. And oh no Bethany why was surgery day bad for you?
I had mine on the 28th & I had under the muscle, the recovery is proving tough. I feel happy but it’s hard to get up & I’m having help being dressed etc
I do get up & move around, but mainly I feel knocked for 6. The pain is subsiding, it’s just movement – Please be kind to yourself, if you need rest, please rest – It’s not worth any risk. Good luck! Xxx
I didn’t leave the house until about 5-6 days ok and only managed to be out an hour as I was so uncomfortable. Plus as it’s hard to shower properly (can’t get stitches wet etc for a weekI didn’t feel up to going out ) day 7-8 was a turning point for me x
Hey Georgia, I’m on day 7 now and to be honest I’ve struggled so much this week but I’ve done the worst thing and just made myself bed bound so I was constantly stiff and could never get up but I also had unders with such a low pain threshold ? day 6 & 7 was definitely a turning point, only annoying thing now is my posture and I can’t do anything with my left arm yet but everyone’s different, I’ve read some peoples experiences on here where it’s been basically painless so you could be so different to me! Good luck! 🙂 xx
I found surgery day bad purely because I was too scared to do anything and getting home/to bed was quite difficult as i wasn’t used to it and didn’t know my boundaries yet!
I’ve been using my arms quite a bit tbh, more than I thought I would. It’s sore, and It’s difficult getting myself up but I can pick things up and move about kind of ok once I’m up. Thismorning was difficult but I’d deffo say keep moving, don’t give in to the pain too much. The longer you sit still the worse it gets because everything stiffens up, the more you move around the looser everything feels. (Obvs don’t over do it, but I’d say try to avoid staying still in bed for days. Get up every hour or so and make some lunch get a drink etc, just keep mobile)
Georgia where are you getting yours done? And are you having unders or overs? I’m having 350cc hp unders on 23rd December with Mr Mashhadi at London Fitzroy. I have the same worries but as everyone else has said I’m just going to try and keep up and active and taking pain killers. Hopefully Christmas Day / Boxing Day etc will be a distraction! I’m so excited now!
Hi Sophie I’m having 300cc unders at London Fitzroy to with dr mashhadi as well! I really hope I can be mobile and just able to sit at the table to have dinner and stuff and the pain is bearable
I was in and out of sleep most of surgery day due to the GA and morphine (the morphine part was amazing lol), next say I was up and around purely because I can’t stand being still for too long! Day 3 was the achiest for me like other people have said but I took 1 Nurofen now and again to take the edge off and it got better from day 5 onwards pretty rapidly. Everyone is different though know of some that it had knocked them massively and they’ve been in bed for a week so you only really can judge how you feel day by day xx
I hope I have the same recovery as you Jenna ?? What size did you have before and after? And did you go over or under the muscle?
I had overs. I went out on the 4th day post op and went home early because I was exhausted and in pain but it gets easier day by day. I’m back to work tomorrow. I will be 10 days post op
Was ridiculously lucky with recovery and I had 350cc and 375cc hp partials and was warned recovery would be longer than having overs but think I was just so excited to actually have it done lol I went from a b to a 30f so considering I was planning on a d/dd think o really got value for money there haha hope it all goes well for you don’t be reading too many horror stories about how painful it is etc just keep on top of the pain meds at routine times like clockwork and you will be fine xx
Thanks for the advice, it’s hard to imagine what I will be like as I can’t stand being bed bound but If you have to keep moving I assume I will up and down, so I guess I will be fine having dinner and being downstairs and things. I guess I will play it by the day if I can out for dinner Christmas Eve and stuff. But fingers crossed I can deal with and have a good Christmas! X
I was up and about the next day i have 2 children to sort out for school. Didn’t even stay in bed once just took my pain killers to ease the pain xx
Wow Steph I hope My recovery is like yours and I can be up and about, did you go under or over the muscle and what size did you go to? X
