How to look after incision?

Hi ladies day 8 today my nurse removed my sucha and they look good, I wonder how to look after them so they don’t get infected, and heal quicker?

I was able to have a shower yesterday for the first time after two weeks of dressings on my incisions and the nurse just said to let the water run over them in the shower, don’t wash them, pat them dry, try not to touch them with my fingers and not to use any creams, lotions or bio oil on them for another 4 weeks so we can’t use anything to help them heal quicker just got to leave them xx
