Seriously I have never ever imagined how annoying it is to sleep upright I have had enough! Is there anything I can do because I can’t take this anymore I’m not sleeping much I’m so uncomfortable
Hey I’m exactly the same! This is night 2 for me and I’ve just managed to get an hour on sofa woke up in agony with my back and tightness on my chest. I’ve tried propping with loads of pillows and V pillow but it’s rubbish! No help sorry but at least you know your not alone Haha xx
Hi girls, I found that if I proper two pillows up and used two orginart pillows into a v shape with the point at the top I could sort of fall into t still been upright, I also used a travel neck pillow and put this back to from so I could rest my head on it either side. Helped me so so much!!! Hope this helps xxx
Hi Vicky, have you seen the adjustable back rests you can get from Argos that a few girls have recommended on here? I used that on the lowest setting with a v pillow on top and I had absolutely no issues sleeping on my back and i’m usually a front/side sleeper. It was honestly my life saver and I couldn’t recommend it more x
This is the part I am dreading if I don’t get any good sleep post op. Have you the link for the backrest Dannii as I can’t see it in the catalogue ? Xx
I had to sleep upright in a chair for the last 8 weeks of my pregnancy i couldn’t lie down at all it was hell, im using the V pillow on its side and its working much better than having it upright the way it should be, hard to describe i’ll try and take pics to upload, i bought the backrest from Argos but haven’t opened it i also bought the the one from house of bath to use during the day xxx
I’m the same 🙁 im 8 days in and not really on any painkillers anymore so there’s nothing to knock me out at night! My neck and back are so stiff! I just can’t find a comfortable position and keep waking up with dead arms :/ xx

I slept on my back from about 3/4 days post op, I had a couple of pillows under my head and neck but was near enough flat. My surgeon (I didn’t go with MYA) said that I was able to sleep however I wanted and that my body would tell me if I couldn’t sleep in a certain position!
Thanks girls, glad I’m not the only one! Genuinely this is the hardest part of BA, 6 weeks doesn’t sound like a long time but it really does drag and I’m only 2wpo so to think I have another. FOUR WEEKS is really getting me down so much. You know when you are at work all day and you think “oh I can’t wait to get home and get in bed!” Well I don’t get that feeling, I dread getting in bed cause I’m never gonna sleep properly! I’m guna get a back rest, I was avoiding the idea because I’m on a holiday in a few weeks and don’t wana buy something I won’t get much use of. But I genuinely can’t cope sleeping like this no more. It is the worst part and I really didn’t expect it to be so uncomfortable n horrible xxxxxx
Yeah I’m now the same! The first few days post op I was fine, probably from the medication I was on! But now my back is in pieces and I just can’t get comfy. I find I’ve slid right down when I wake up anyway. From other ops I’ve had (hip surgery) they’ve always said when your body is ready it will let you sleep how you want! So maybe try laying flat Hun and if it’s not right your body will soon tell you! If not then you’re probably doing absolutely no harm xx
I was told by my surgeon that I only had to sleep sitting up for 2 nights after my op, after the I could sleep on my back but just to keep my head and shoulders elevated. I know every surgeon is different and I didn’t go through Mya but had dr kazzazi who works with Mya 🙂 xx
