I have found a bite! Worried!

I may be overreacting but I’m so worried. I’ve just found a bite on my arm, it’s really itching…
Could I get an infection from this?!
I’m 8 days post op.
I’ve taken some Piriton (as it says on the box for insect bites)
Has anyone else been bitten before and has anything happened as a result?
I’m so worried as I don’t want to get an infection 😢
