    Hi ladies, just a little rant as I miss going to the gym. I’m 3 weeks post op and have to wait another 2 weeks before entering the gym.
    How has everyone weaned themselves back in? Will it be the treadmill only or has anyone else done classes.

    Hi,

    I really want to know about this my op is in January . Im an ex personal trainer and i work in a gym but on reception now. Fitness is just such a big part of my life. I know i need to take it steady and paying out for it im going to take my time and make sure i heal properly before pushing myself.

    Any time scales would be great.
    100% will just be starting with cardio until scars are healed and range of motion is fully restored especially with been under he muscle the muscle needs time to repair.

    This is something I was SO worried about and the 6 weeks I didn’t go to the gym were hell but I stuck it out. At 5 weeks I did a bit of cardio but didn’t get too hot that I was sweating loads or get my heart rate really high. The day after my 6 week appointment I was back in the gym, I do a lot of weights and the first time I trained I was lifting about 75% of the weight I had been doing before surgery. I’m now 9 weeks post op, my legs are stronger than ever, my upper body is at about 90% of what it was before. There’s certain exercises that feel a bit funny so I just go really light and slow and if it feels wrong I stop. I haven’t tried any chest exercises yet but I’m not bothered about training that anyway and the thought of a push up terrifies me!!
    It seems like ages and like its the worst thing in the world to not be able to go to the gym but honestly it’s not that bad and your body bounces back really quickly once you get back to it. You pay so much for your new boobies it’s really worth the small amount of time away from the gym to make sure they are perfect 🙂 xx
