ibrobufen ….. Please someone explain

Hi Ladies,

I feel like I’m going mad, I have heard such conflicting information I just want to clear up with what you were all told too.

Did any of you take ibrobufen after surgery??…

I am not taking their strong painkillers as I dont want too, So started on Ibrobufen the day after Op, I had just took my second dose when a nurse called me to see how I was and I told her she was like NOOOOOOOooooooOOOooo do not take ibrobufen at all!!
I was like, What ? Why? She said this can cause severe bleeding … So of course I stopped and carried on with paracetamol only.

When I spoke to another nurse though she said it was fine to take?.

The paracetamol isnt cutting it for me, Obvs cus the swelling is still so high – So IF i could, I would rather take a couple of ibrobufen to get through the next few days – Would this be wise?.

I took ibuprofen and was fine my nurse told me not to take aspirin co it thins the bloods but ibuprofen is fineand rreally takes down the swelling x

Hey I’ve been told not to take ibuprofen I am taking codraymol when. In alot of pain only one tho it works for me and if in less pain I have paracetamol
I’ve had no painkillers since 5hours now only my antibiotic and swelling tabs etc.
I’d say take one strong tablet otherwise paracetamol xx ask your nurse

I have been taking iburofen took it day after op after speaking to nurse.. just dont go over board so do like paracetamol then two hours later ibutofen and so on that helps Xx

I took ibuprofen from day 2, really helped me out. I was taking them instead of the co dydramol but I did take them together for one day I think. I wasn’t told not to take them with or without… But then I don’t think I was told that much at the hospital! I’ve helped me a lot too kept the swelling and tightness right down. I was up and about by day 3. I’m 10 days op now, only feel muscle ache now. Yay hope you girls start to feel better! I promise you it gets better 🙂
Also I found a letter in a blank envelope in the implant book do I send that to my doctor, I vaguely remember being told that..

Thanks all – I feel really stupid now I thought i could get by on just paracetamol!
I knew i needed an anti inflammatory for the swelling but just didnt want to take their strong stuff!
Just took two ibrubofen now lets hope they start to work on this swelling and pain xx

The anti inflammatory and antibiotic tabs are the two main important ones that you must take x
