If have implants need antibiotics if have dental work?

I have read if u have dental work once u have implants you have to have antibiotics to stop infection going to implant. Is this correct. I need a small filling but am allergic to lots of antibiotics so don’t want to take what don’t need and. Go to a village dentist don’t want them knowing my business. Anyone know?

I read this too and checked with my nurse as I have a brace on atm so always am nipping to the dentist for something or another. She said she had never heard about that so don’t worry and we don’t need to xxx

The guidlines have changed now think it was 2009 but not 100percent but that was for something else I wasn’t aware just to do with implants. But the patients that needed antibiotic cover now don’t need it anymore .

I just looked what guidlines it was it’s the ‘nice guidlines’ but it’s to do with people who have heart problems.
