Now 3days PO and seeing nurse on sat to hopefully have plasters off but im really worried to see what the incisions look like. Will they be a complete mess, even, not healed etc Ahhhhhh nervous :/
Any PO girls that can help or tell me what its like would be so helpful xx
I’m off at 10am today so if no one has replies by then al let u know x
I didn’t see mine for 18 days as they hadn’t healed enough at my week check, but when I finally did see them, they were just a red line, and still the same today (10 months post op), my surgeon has said they aren’t the best scars in the world, but aren’t the worst either (all my other scars have healed to white lines in weeks, which is why I hate them) so will try tidy them up when I have my re-op xx
Just got back from mya one week PO and they look absolutely fantastic, they have cleaned them n put plasters back on till next week but you would never know they are only a week old!
Hey, from what I remember when I got my dressings off at 10 days they were a pink/red line that had started knitting together and were closed but hadn’t fully smoothed and joined yet, i could see a few stitches which hadn’t dissolved yet (so that looked a but gruesome tbh!), and maybe one or two places were darker or ‘scabby’ like round the stitches or at the ends which must take a bit longer to heal. But they do get better pretty quickly from ‘new wounds’ to starting to heal and recover so try not to worry to much. x
Hey
I will be 3 weeks po tomorrow and removed my second lot of dressing which the nurse put on at my 7 day check last Thursday (which was 8 days after my first appointment with the nurse!). The plasters were difficult to take off even with soaking them for a while in the bath and I was very consious not to pull them off so resorted to easing them off with baby oil and this worked a treat! I was really surprised at how well they had healed and although a little bumpy on one side they were dry and only slightly pink so honestly Minisha if you have followed advice and left them alone you will have nothing to worry about! I would recommned that if when you see the nurse she puts some streri strip over incisions as mine did, to leave this on as long as you can to help protect the incision and prevent infection. Good luck! xx
Hey minisha when I went back to my one check up I was really nervous about seeing my scars but they looked fantastic and healed really well the nurse was do pleased with them she cleaned them up and put some sterile strips on they were still a bit red but nothing to bad you’ll be fine don’t worry Hun xxx
Hey Hun I had everything removed on my week po coz I was completely healed ! Couldn’t see my scar at all 🙂 so happy with em xxx
