Infected incision??

Hiya….
I’m just over three weeks post op and seem to have developed a small infection at the edge of one of my inductions.
There is a patch that is very red, sore, and a bit swollen.
The pain gets worse every day, I can’t even touch around that area now without it hurting.
What should I do?? Can I go to my doctors for this sort of thing??
It’s too much hassle to go to MYA to sort it xxx

UPDATE – Emailed my PC who gave me a number to call for the nurse…. called that number yesterday and still waiting for a call back today.
Getting more worried about this infection… wondering if to just go to a walk in centre and see if they can give me anything :/
I cant even softly touch the area now its so so painful xx

Yeah surely if they aren’t getting back to you you can go to your doctors they will be able to tell if its infected or not? xx

Well after i had my surgery they said to only go to MYA if i had any trouble…. not my own docs… so i dont know.
Just checked on it again now there was some blood on my bra…. clearly not a good sign when im coming up to 4 weeks post op :/ grr xxx

Hi Hun so sorry to hear you’ve got an infection . Try not to tuch it . Keep it covered just until they call you back. Hope you get it fixed soon Hun .xx

Hey luv yh as Em said defo don’t touch it. Maybe wipe it with warm cotton wool with clean hands. Maybe buy some sterile strips & cover up too.. Go to the chemist and see what they advise, they may even be able to give u antibiotics.. Good luck & keep trying Mya.. If not just go there xx

Will try not to touch it but im a bit of a picker and i wanna see whats going on with it lol.
Started taking some penicillin that i had at home but im running out of that now so will deffo need some antibiotics or something xxx

MYA called after seeing my post 🙂
I could go to Birmingham tomorrow but i live in Notts, dont drive, have a two year old, and also have work… so… i cant really 🙁
But they gave me the go ahead to see my doc and keep them informed xxx
