Had to go to the nurse today for fear of infection 🙁 my incision going down from the nipple to the underneath has looked really red and a bit yellowy. She took swabs to check but just thinks it may be a stitch which is rejecting. It’s started to get a little bit sore which I’m assuming is just where I need to rest it a little bit cause I’ve been back at work now. It’s just so disheartening when I’ve come so far and everything’s been going great to now have to deal with this, I know it’s not a big deal right now but it’s making me feel so upset 🙁
Keep in touch with me, sounds a little bit like what I’m going through at the moment. The turn around on swabs is really quick. I’ve been sore but there’s been no infection yet and I have a superficial open wound.
Just try and take comfort in how much better you’ve felt since the op, we’ve both had complex surgery. It’ll be absolutely fine xx

What I have at the moment is described as a “superficial open wound” that I’ve now had for about three weeks and I’m 7 weeks PO. I’ve had three swabs now and not had an infection, it appears to be a pesky area that refuses to heal! What operation did you have? I had a reduction. Glad we all have each other!

I had a lift with implant and the ward clean my wound last night and they took swap I hope all be ok I try to rest today and to take it easy… I had my surgery on 3rd Aug. And will try to download a photo of the open stitch. My plaster is clean today so I hope things get easier. … Good luck with your wound I hope you heal quick x
It’s so poop! I’m hoping it will be ok, she put me the iodine dressing on that bit yesterday and I don’t have anything on anywhere else now which is way more comfortable and less itchy! But it was hurting a bit yesterday and today it’s totally fine so I’m hoping all will be well! Are you back to work now Zoe?

I’ve been back at work a few weeks on reduced duties. I had three weeks off.
My next check up for a dressings change is Monday and then my surgeon wanted to see me again for an update the next time he was in which is Thursday
I hope it’s getting better for you! The only great part about this is that I don’t have many dressings on so I stare at them all the time haha! I have to go back in Wednesday 🙂 how long did it take for you to get your results back? X
There’s always been a two day turnaround on mine! Last swabs were done Wednesday, I had a voicemail on my phone after work on Friday! I still have dressings on both breasts and thats why I’ve not done any updated pictures because its a big dressing on the right one. Hoping to not need one on my left really soon.
