Hi everyone, I’m new to this.. I am doing abut of research and my friends have told me that MYA is highly recommended.. I’m looking to have a breast enlargement at the end of the year, I haven’t been for any consultations or anything, as I need some information and advice on what to do. I have a few questions to ask if anyone could help me please?
How long do you have to wait to have a consultation?
After the consultation, what’s the waiting list to have the procedure?
Do you have to pay upfront for the procedure?
Would you recommend day case or overnight?
ATM I’m 34 a, what size do you recommend for me? I would like to be around a D..
Is the pre and post care good?
Thank you, katie x
I left my email with MYA and they phoned me an hour later and I went for a consultation with my patient coordinator that night. I had my surgeon consultation a week later. It depends when the surgeons will be there as they travel around.
Usually between 1-4 months. It depends on which surgeon you choose and what dates they have. You can also get discount for a “late space booking” which means you have the procedure ASAP, usually within a few weeks.
You can either pay the entire thing upfront or take out finance. MYA have a good finance where you pay half upfront and pay the other half on 0% finance for 10 months. Or you can take out the entire thing on finance and pay some interest.
I was a day case and was just fine, overnight is usually for if you have some kind of underlying medical problem that they might want to keep an eye on or if you’re more than 3 hours away from the hospital since you won’t want to travel that far the same day as your op.
Your surgeon can help you decide on this. It depends on the shape and size of your boobs now since everyone is different. 2 girls can have the exact same implants and get entirely different results. I’d say somewhere between 300 and 400cc though, since that’s what most girls tend to have for that result. Take pictures of the results you want to your surgeon consultation and he will recommend sizes. Then you can meet with your patient coordinator and try those sizes on and decide which one you’d like to pick.
It kinda depends on where you go for consultations. Some girls have PCs that don’t reply to their messages or emails, whereas my PC is absolutely fantastic and so lovely. I’d say the care is really good though. Super happy I went with MYA x
thank you very much! I’m starting to feel more comfortable and knowing about what I need to do. I have put in my details so hopefully they will give me a call tomorrow and I can get booked for a consultation. With the late booking one, say i wanted it done end of December would i 100% get in with them or is it best to book a set date when they are available? With the payment, will they go through and discuss this on consultation?
I’m a worrier, but I’m sure once I’ve been for my first consultation I will understand it a lot better and be more relaxed about it. Was you nervous about having yours done?
Another thing is, i am thinking of having under the muscle as I don’t want the ‘fake’ look. What did you have?
The “late booking” is more of an early booking really haha, so if they need to fill a space in a few weeks then they’ll give someone discount. I’m sure every date in December is free so you’ll have first choice. You only need to pay a £500 deposit to secure a date and then I think the full balance needs to be paid a month before 🙂 Yeah your PC will discuss all your options with you on whether you want to pay it all off, get finance from MYA or find finance elsewhere (I know a few people who have paid theirs with their credit cards etc.).
I had under the muscle but I’ve now changed my mind and realised I actually like the fake look haha! Although every girl on here who have had over the muscle have all had lovely results and don’t look stuck on or fake. The surgeons at MYA are great regardless of whether you go under or over. Unders have a few other benefits too though, you can still breastfeed with them, less chance of sagging or rippling and seeing the implants, you can still get mammograms like normal etc. Overs are mostly offered to girls with enough breast tissue to hide the implant. With you starting off as an A then you’ll probably only be offered unders anyway since you probably don’t have enough tissue to completely cover overs 🙂
Here’s mine at 12 and a half weeks post op. I had 450cc high profile unders, so pretty big! I started as a 34A/B and I’m now 32F but wear 34E/DD bras since it’s a bit difficult to find 32F bras. Well actually I don’t really wear bras if I can help it lol, I love letting my boobs free haha x
Hi Katie,
Fantastic advice from Jess. I would add – be prepared to show your boobs to a LOT of different people! LOL it’s OK though they’re all medical….
I made initial contact on 18th July and my procedure is next month so they are very speedy!
Best of luck!
@zarha you’re not really supposed to discuss your procedure from a different company since this is a MYA forum.
But following on from Zarha’s comment, my op with MYA was pretty much the same. Met my PC in Liverpool who was so lovely. Every time I go see her she’s always complimenting me and telling me how great I look and I always leave there with a smile on my face in a really good mood. I only met Dr Mounir and decided that I wanted him, didn’t need to have any other consultations. On the day my Mum came with me and I also had my own private room with a TV and en suite bathroom. My Mum walked me down to theatre in my lovely backless gown and then next thing I remember I was waking up and she was there with me in my room. I didn’t have to wait 10minutes like with Transform before she was allowed in, she was at the side of my bed while I was all groggy coming to. The nurses brought me water and checked in on me every 20minutes or so to see how I was feeling. I tried to go to the toilet and felt really sick so the nurse helped me back to bed and gave me anti sickness medicine. Then she brought me a banana and tea and toast and I felt much better after eating them. Then an hour or so later I was fine to go home. We even stopped in a services on the motorway and I went in and got a KFC. Not much pain, just felt a bit stiff 🙂
