I had my 7 day check up and the nurse told me that my surgeon likes the breast band to be worn for the first three weeks almost none stop however she said as long as I wear it at night that’s all that matters. I’m now not sure what to do? Has anybody else been told similar? X
I personally wouldn’t take off for more than an hour when showering etc.
If they weren’t to settle to how you want them you’d regret it… 🙂
That’s what I was thinking too em! I’d hate for them to go wrong! This is my second op so I wasn’t sure if there was a reason for me having this band. Maybe as the pockets are already there this band is helping to get the implants in place and to stay there? I see my surgeon in two weeks so it’s not like I need to wear it too much longer. I’m a little worried il get saggy boobs from it pushing them down lol. I may just be worrying over nothing x
Was the 2nd op for revision cos the first went wrong or did they just need doing again due to time?
As far as i’m aware it’s just different surgeons methods of working.
My first time I was strapped up with the most uncomfortable tape, whereas this time I just had steri strips and a plaster over my wounds & told to wear my medical bra for 6 weeks.
I’d stick with your surgeons recommendation, that way you know you’ve done everything you can to make them perfect x
I had pip implants which I needed replacing, so it literally was just an exchange of implants.
Last time all I had was the steristrip and dressings so it’s a bit different this time. The nurse said that this surgeon likes his patients to wear the band. Il keep wearing it and just take it off when showering or washing it. Like you say at least it’l keep me doing what I’m supposed to. Even though it’s making me itchy and I hate it, I do find it supports me quite well. x
Yeah they’re a nightmare to wear aren’t they. I had strapping the first give which was so itchy but couldn’t remove myself.
This time I had steri strips and was allergic to them, ended up with really sore itchy blisters 🙁
Good luck with your healing and keep that band on lol x
I had my op nine months ago and my breasts are fabulous ! I followed the instructions to the ” T”, and wore the breast band for 3 weeks . Yes , it was uncomfortably and itchy , but it was worth it in the end . I paid a lot of money to get mybreast done , hence the reason why I did everything the nurse and surgeon recommended , to ensure I didn’t have any complications. Good luck ????
By the way , of course I took my breast band off, but only for a short while when I had a shower or at the end of the day for 15-30minutes.
Fab thank you Beverley. Il carry on wearing it the majority of the time. I’m actually getting used to it now although the itching isn’t too nice lol.
I did think it was best to go with what the surgeon recommends over the nurse saying it’s ok to just wear it at night. It must be doing something as when I took it off the other day for a few hours when I washed it it really hurt putting it back on x
Em I have found I must have been allergic to the dressing they used as it’s all gone scabby where it was, 8 think that may explain part of the reason I was so itchy. I’m still it hy but not so bad. I really can’t remember feeling so fed up of the sports bra last time lol. X
