Hi, my surgeon said in so many words ‘if they aren’t broken they don’t need to be fixed’ I have two friends that I’ve spoken to and they have had theirs in for 10 and 14 years and they haven’t had them replaced yet.
I’m booked in on 10th January, excited and nervous x
My surgeon said between 10-15 years. It all depends on your lifestyle; age, pregnancy etc. If it’s not broken; it doesn’t need fixing. I personally think I would get them replaced after 10 years; and might go bigger or smaller. It’s a long time away but I wouldn’t worry about it. X
I was told they are meant to last a life time and you just need to get them checked after 10years with a scan, and if they are fine they don’t need doing. I know someone who’s had theirs in 17years and had a child and hers are still fine. She said they are a bit smaller but she’s not bothered cause she’s older now so didn’t want them as big as before anyway x x x x
