Labiaplasty

Finally going through with this surgery putting my deposit down and getting my surgery date tomorrow, i’m more excited than scared at this stage! I’ve been so paranoid about downstairs since I was 17 having had horrible remarks from an ex partner to the point i haven’t been able to have a personal relationship with anyone else, I am 25 now!

Has anyone had the surgery that can tell me how well it went and if they are happy with the results? I really want it to look how I want it to after the surgery, but I’m scared I have too high of an expectation.

Hi Faye, I’m the same it makes you feel so insecure. Never had remarks it’s just how it makes me feel. So glad your going a ahead with it! So am I within the next few months! Hope you get the results you are after xx

I’ve asked for a date in April just awaiting approval.
It is such a horrible feeling isn’t it, I cannot wait until it is done.

I had a consultation with Dr Mounir at Nottingham two weeks ago and am booked in for labiaplasty and BA on 24th April in Preston.
Was really apprehensive about going to see him as it’s something I’ve never discussed with anyone before but he made me feel so comfortable and told me exactly what I’d hoped. It was weird having someone draw on your bits, and having to look close up in the mirror was a bit awkward at first but now I’m now so excited for my surgery and can’t wait to see what it’ll look like afterwards! X

Hi Helen, I know it’s so awkard isn’t it, I’m having mine done with dr Ibraheim but I didn’t once have a consultation with dr Mounir who is really nice is well!!! Oh your having yours done 4 days before me!!! Keep me posted please! I’m having mine done in Preston too! Sooooo scared haha xxx

@stace-x It’s worth the initial awkwardness in the long run! I’m not nervous yet, more excited, I’ve had surgery before so am trying to remain fairly relaxed about it all but I’m sure that’ll change when it gets to the night before. I’m not one to tell someone not to get cosmetic surgery (heck, it’s why I’m here) but if I were you I would spend the money on hiring someone to sort out that ex of yours haha! What a horrible person. I’m sure you look lovely down there. I’d also like Labiaplasty but mine is more for practical reasons because it gets trapped a lot and it makes it very difficult to shave. I’m also slightly more prone to infections or irritation from soap because if any residue is left in any of the folds then it stings. D: But if you really want this procedure done, I really hope you’ll get it and love the results. I’m also hoping to get a BA. It would be ideal if I could get them done on the same day! Hi, had my op this morning combined with a BA so staying overnight. Have not needed any pain relief but have just had some sleeping tablets to help me drop off. I’ve been the loo twice and not had any stinging, it just feels numb and swollen. I’m sure tomorrow will be a different story and I’ve not had a proper look yet but so far so good! X

Can’t believe it’s been 6 days already. I’ve been absolutely fine, no real pain, little bit uncomfortable when sitting down sometimes but no stinging when going the loo either. So surprised at how easy it’s been so think I’m quite lucky. Had my BA done at the same time so that has been a good distraction! I haven’t got a lot of swelling and know there’s still a lot to change but so happy at the moment.

Hi Helens, glad you feel good. Had mine done on Friday, yeah you’ve been very lucky! I was so ill yesterday, was crying all day, not with the surgery but with my stomach,all bunged up from medication! How are you results from the labiaplasty? Xx

Sorry to hear the medication had caused you problems. I have a lot of bloating and still look big but it’s not been painful thank goodness. I’ve not had a close up look but when I stand in front of a mirror I can’t see anything protruding which is a massive difference already. I can feel it’s swollen when I wash myself but don’t want to look too close whilst it’s still early days as I know it will be so different in a week or two. Xx

Fab. Glad your ok. Helen can I ask how you are washing? People are writing so many different things like use soap? I’m scared to use soap, all I want to do is sit in the bath 🙁 x

I’m glad to hear it. When you say you had your BA done at the same time, do you mean under one op or simply on the same day? I’m also hoping to have a BA and Labiaplasty at the same time. Who was your surgeon? 🙂

I’m having showers but not using any shower gel. I have my post-op today and been told no baths until I’m healed (the 6 week mark) as they don’t want you sitting in what they class as ‘dirty’ bath water when you still have wounds. I was also told no perfumed shower gel or wipes etc for the same time. So no soap and no baths unfortunately! X

I had them done under one anaesthetic so I was in theatre for about two hours in total. I had Dr Mounir as he specialises in both. I was worried about combining the two but I’m so glad I did. Only one lot of recovery time and each is a good distraction from the other! I would get them both done together if you can. Hx

Post Op was all good, bit itchy with the stitches and still wearing loose ‘ish trousers but no problems so far. How are you getting on? X

Perfect. Yeah I’m fine now I’m over all the pain. Find wearing underwear really itchy and annoying! Had a look properly for first time today . I’m 10 days post op. It looks good, jus very swollen! Looks fat! Lol! But all neat. And perfect. Xx

Mine sounds exactly the same as yours so that is reassuring.
A couple more weeks and it’ll all be great. Can’t wait for that first long soak in the bath! Hx

Ha ha!! Neat and fat lmao jus need swelling to go down and it will be as pretty as it will ever be! ha! Oh yeah me too! I’m not a shower person I hate them so it’s driving me mad! Xx

Is anyone else having problems speaking to anyone from MYA such as your payment consultant/nurse? I ended up paying the rest of my fee through the call centre and almost lost my surgery date because my payment consultant didn’t return calls/emails/texts and emails from her colleges prompting her to phone me.

My nurse called me yesterday saying the anesthetist would like to check my blood for one more thing and might not agree to operate without it, my surgery is on Wednesday and my GP can’t see me in time nor can they get the results back to MYA in time. The nurse asked me to call her back… I’ve called/emailed/texted and asked a colleague to forward my emails to her requesting an urgent call back and I still haven’t heard anything. I’ve paid in full from my own money and I can’t secure a different week off work for recovery due to my current role at the company so I’m really panicking that this can’t go ahead and yet I can’t seem to get to speak to anyone about it… anyone else experience a similar service? Or have any advice about the best way to get to speak to someone? Would really appreciate any help at this point 🙂

how much did you guy pay for this surgery?

I paid £2900 but the price has gone up now I believe.
I had it done yesterday, just a bit sore at the moment, but the pain is no where near as bad as I imagined. Hopefully it doesn’t get much worse.
