I’ve had all my pre op appointments with Dr Mileto and the nurses. They’ve all been amazing. Super helpful, calm and reassuring at every stage in the process. Not once have I felt uncomfortable.

Communication throughout has been brilliant, with information, support and guidance.

My surgery is in 2 weeks time, so I’ll share my updates on progress.

Happy to answer any questions you may have if you’re researching or at the start of your MYA journey ☺️ x

Had my surgery 3 days ago.

The nurses, anaesthetists and Dr Mileto were brilliant. Made me feel comfortable, calm and at ease whilst in hospital.

All went well and I’m now recovering.
I have a lot of bruising and swelling – as they said I would – and I’m fairly sore. So just taking it easy this week.

The swelling is changing and decreasing daily, which they said it would. Just have to be patient with the body recovering.

Overall.. So far so good! I trust the MYA team and have no regrets getting it done.

Will continue to share updates on progress. Any questions, let me know

Updates – for those that are finding them useful!

I’m now 5 weeks post surgery and all of my bruising has gone. I do still have some swelling around the top stitches, where I had a hoodectomy. And I’m cleaning it daily to ensure the healing process continues as it should. But otherwise, all of my labia stitching is healing well.

I was definitely way more sore, for a far longer than I had originally anticipated. I wasn’t able to wear underwear for about 4weeks. I think this is because I still had significant swelling around the hood. So please bare this in mind that it’s not always a quick healing process – but each body will be different no doubt.

In week 3, the stitching around my hood became extremely sore, swollen and started to weep a little, which I had concerns with. So I rang the out of hours MYA line, and they couldn’t have been more helpful! They put me at ease, sent me some items to clean it, and also had me follow up with the doctor just to be safe. I had some antibiotics – to be safe – and the MYA team have checked in with me every week to ensure I’m doing ok and it’s all healing well. Defo a 5* for aftercare!

In regard to how it all looks. I have no excess labia or overhang from outside the majora what so ever! Which is what I wanted and I’m super pleased with. Looks amazing.

Just waiting for the hood to finish healing, and the stitches to slowly start dropping off, and I’m hoping all will be well. Got a follow up appointment with the nurses and Dr Mileto in a few weeks time to review progress.

The skin is definitely feeling tighter, vs what I used to have, so no doubt will need to be careful when it comes to having sex again – as I’ll need to gently/slowly stretch it.

I’ve kept taking my contraceptive pill during the healing process / post surgery, so that I can keep all the wounds clean and know it’s healing correctly – but that was my choice, and I’m glad I have done this!

As always, will keep this post updated and happy to answer any questions if anyone has any.

Hi did you find your clit was really swollen and sticking out after surgery? How long did this take to go down? I’m 2 weeks post op, and still unable to wear underwear.

    Hi Carmen ☺️
I wouldn’t panic. I know we’re told it would be 1-2weeks recovery post op, but honestly, it took me a good 4-5weeks to fully recover. For the swelling to go down and for me to walk / sit properly again. I didn’t wear underwear for 5 weeks post op as it was just too uncomfortable.
My clit / hood was the last part of the swelling to go down. Which I did start to panic about after 2 weeks recovery, but I just stuck to the process and trusted all would settle. And it absolutely has!
The whole area has settled and is perfect!

If you needed any support with recovery / cleaning, I spoke to an amazing nurse in aftercare, as I called and explained I was worried about how slow recovery was. She sent me out some sachets of saline solution, to help with daily cleaning, and I feel like they really helped with speeding up the process.
All the best with your recovery. I promise, it’ll all be worth it xx

Hey everyone🌺, i have my procedure coming up with Mr.Mileto at the end of May along with a brest uplift, and i’m so worried because I’m getting them done together so its like double the pain, can anyone whose had the labiaplasty just tell me how did you find going for a wee afterwards? Because I’ve had son and I had stitches and i remember how awful it was 🙈 did anyone else? Is it the same sensation? And if so how long does the uncomfortable pain last, that’s my main worry not being able to go for a wee Because of the pain, so just anyone with any advice would be appreciated thankyou ladies 🙏🏽🩷

    Hey Nadine ☺️

Surprisingly, it was no problem at all. I had no pain weeing at any point. Even straight after surgery. Maybe this is different for other people. But it caused me no issue what so ever.

Then you just have to gently press and pat yourself dry, so you don’t disrupt your stitching. ☺️

Honestly, the most painful part of it all was not being able to wear underwear / tight clothing for weeks after, and having to walk round / lay down with my legs apart constantly. As the healing process and swelling did take time to settle and go down. You’re just sore for some time after.

I was told a few weeks recovery. But mine took a good 5-6weeks .

It’s all worth it though. I’m fully healed now. Back in regular exercise and it looks.. AMAZING. Mr Mileto did an amazing job 😍

I’m glad your results are what you wanted and it all went well🙂🤍
