Lack of care

So I had my op on Monday. Can not fault the staff at Preston first trust but since I left on Monday, no one from mya has contacted me to follow up. None of the nurses or my PC. I am appalled. I paid in front for this procedure and the lack of care shown post op is shocking. Anyone else experinaced the same. It’s a shame as like I said, the hospital and the surgeon were great, however, mya is not a company I will recommend to my friends.

@izzy-com Hi Jamie, I’m due to go to my surgeon consultation next week. Do you hav your follow up appointments now that you’ve had your op? I keep seeing mixed reviews and I’m a bit worried if I go through with it and something goes wrong no one will help 🙁

Hi Hun did the nurse not ring to check up on you Hun after my o my nurse rang me at 2 day post op to see how I was feeling and then I had my 1 weeks post op and the rest of them xxx

No not as yet. I have no follow up appointment. I will ring them tomorrow and chase it up. Although I do feel this is something they should chase up. I really thought someone would have followed up with a Courtosy call or message. Shame really. Spoilt it and makes you feel like once they have your money they don’t care. It’s 100% a business. Like I said the hospital staff were fab, but mya is sloppy and they don’t care really is my view. My partner is furious.

Hi Stacey, I am day 3 today and no one had called. No nurse or anything. I Personally rang to speak to a nurse today but I’d just missed her. I will ring her again tomoz. Xxx

I think mya after care is shocking i had my op few year ago, didnt hear from anyone had to arrange my own 6 weeks check appointment, didn’t hear nothing off anyone after op and even after check not one person checked if I was ok/happy etc xxx

Hey, I went with MYA and I’m almost 2 WPO now and I didn’t hear anything from anyone until I was 6 days post op! My PC text to see if I was ok and then the nurse rang me, I did expect to hear something sooner tho! I booked my post op appointment in at my pre op so not sure why they wouldn’t of done the same with you?

I had a phone call 2dpo from a nurse at Mya.
In my experience they’ve been fantastic from start to finish (we’ll not finish as I’m only 4dpo but you know what I mean)
Everyone has been lovely, my PC has been very responsive.
Everyone I met on surgery day was lovely!
I have had a great experience so far. My BA was paid for all up front as well so it’s not like they have any more money to get from me so they’re not just keeping me sweet if you know what I mean.

I have to say I haven’t had a great experience with Mya. Surgeon and hospital were fine but I haven’t heard much from anyone since op and heard nothing at all since my 2 week check up. I’m now 11 weeks po and didn’t get a 6 week check and nobody has contacted me regarding a 12 week check. I will contact them after Christmas as I would like the surgeon to check them even though everything seems fine to me. I also found in the lead up it’s a bit of a production line type approach which kind of suited me as I knew I wanted it done and had chosen the size pretty much myself from research.

I’ve had a fantastic experience with mya everyone has been so help full and been in contact the whole time, my surgeon was lovely and all the staff were fantastic at the hospital, I’m 3 days post op and my pc rang me the morning after my op to check up me and to remind me of my 1 week check up, I can’t fault them they have been brilliant so far x

So be honest. They make more money from you if you don’t pay up front so I kinda think you may get better care doing a payment plan as there interest added. That’s our theory.

iv had no problems . my PC text me the evening of my op day and Nurse rang me the morning after and PC followed up regulary in the first week. very supportive and helpful. had my post op chek booked before ny op and booked my 6 week check at my 1 week check up.. i rang my nurse two weeks post op to straight answer and very helpful

Hi Jamie Lee – do not expect miracles. You will probably notice after posting on here, someone will of called you and said- *they were just about to call you today*, or they have been off this week. I had zero phone calls after my op, or on the day. Nothing. I too paid upfront and heard nothing once it was paid. It seems some PC’s are much better than others. The nurse is your best point of call, mine has been second to one with her care and advice.

I paid up front and had my op on Friday. Both my PC and nurse called me today to make sure I was okay and that everything went well on Friday and double checked I was still fine to go in for my 1 week post op appointment. I think it’s all down to your PC/clinic really! I don’t think it makes a difference how you paid. But they should have called you I would have said something by now personally x
