Hi All
Just wondering if any of you have had the same experience as I have?…
I’ve met with the surgeon I was paired with at my initial consultation. I was so excited and nervous but then came out feeling pretty deflated if I’m honest.
I’m a 34E but carry pretty low down, meaning that I don’t actually have a cleavage, even in the worlds best push up bra. They’re not saggy either, just have no fullness so I want my surgery to correct this. I’ve been considering for about 12 and am eventually in a position to be able to go through with it.
The surgeon was the nicest man ever and upon meeting him I knew immediately I would be happy for him to do my operation. Then comes the sad part… Because of the size of my bust I would need between 400 and 500cc to fill the pocket. However he said because of the weight of the implant I may need an uplift in as little as year but they may go an awful lot longer without needing so. Because I don’t need an uplift now doing the two at the same time isn’t really what I want.
Has anyone else been told this? He said I should get a second opinion and so I’ve booked to meet another surgeon. He also said he couldn’t not do the operation he just wanted me to aware of the possibility. Gutted is an understatement
Hi Shelly
There isn’t anything to lift with there being no sag, there’s just no fullness at all on the top. Otherwise I’d go straight for that!
I’m hoping the second opinion helps as even though they’re a big implant and not THAT common here they’re not obscene and most I’ve seen have less breast tissue than I do.. I’m booked for 7th December and it’s been the longest wait ever!
What implant size did end up choosing? How is recovery going? Xx
Fair enough, hopefully one of the surgeons will have a solution for you. Fingers crossed for the 7th, it’s awful once you get your heart set on it. I had to be tested for sickle cell and my first test came back positive, meaning I would be able to have it done anywhere. I only found out they could do it 2 weeks before my op date, and now I’m so grateful!
I had 275cc partials to take me to a full D to DD! They are moderate plus. I’m really happy with them so far, the recovery has been good. I’ve stayed at my mums for 2 weeks but the pain is bearable. It’s just that you can’t do simple things at first like open the kettle or open the fridge etc!
Good luck for the 7th, let me know how it goes x
Hi i have 34e/f boobs at the min and want to go bigger my surgeon is dr mounir he said im grade 1 meaning my boobs are above the crease he gave me 3 options to either go home and not have the enlargement, to have enlargement and uplift at the same time or just go ahead with the enlargement knowing I’ll probs have to have an uplift eventually
I’ve decided to go Ahead with just the enlargement as I’m really not ready for the scars and healing time for the uplift just yet really scares me to imagine the scars I’m hoping for 500cc to 525cc going back on 20th December for a second consultation with dr mounir
Really excited 🙂 jackie
Oh god Shelly, as if you only found out so close! That must’ve driven you insane not knowing! Pleased you’re happy with them after all that! Who was your surgeon? I’ll be back on, hopefully with a happy ending! x
Hi Jackie! You are literally the only person I’ve found with the same story as Me!
I want to go bigger, but my main concern is the cleavage. I just think I might as well get them bigger at the same time! Though when I found out about the implant size I didn’t realise how much! Haha! Have you only seen Mounir? He’s my second opinion and he did my best friends, hers are amazing! I haven’t been given the option of implant and uplift, just wait or do it and possibly need and uplift! Did he give any indication as to how long it might be before the uplift? Now that you’re the same I’m excited again ???? Xx
Hi Fran, I had a sickle cell trait. First they sent it off and said I tested positive for sickle cell, then they sent it for further testing to see my haemoglobin levels. It then came back saying that I had a trait. Then it wasn’t mentioned again after that, and all good x
Ok cool thanks for letting me know @shells17! Ur the only other person I’ve found on here thr mentioned the trait too! I’ve been bit worried but going under as I’ve researched a lot about sickle cell trait and just scaring myself tbh. thanks for the add also hun ur healing so well! Quick question tho, did u have an early admission due to the trait? I’m having an uplift also. From what I know about the trait we can’t be dehydrated for long as it effects the oxygen levels in the blood. Fx
That’s ok Fran, I read that too and was pretty scared. I know it’s on google but not sure if that’s actually true. After the nurse said that I had a trait, it was never really mentioned again. I’ve had 3 operations now and never had a problem. My admission time was 11, I also had uplift and implants. I didn’t mention the trait on the day as I was worried they wouldn’t do it. I don’t think they got me in earlier because of it but I’m not sure. If your haemoglobin levels are ok which they should be if it’s a trait then I do t think it’s a risk, otherwise I don’t think they would do it. Have they done your blood test or are they just going to contact your GP? X
Hey @shells17 Mya took my bloods and all the levels were fine!
I’ve never had an op and mum just keeps on at me abt the trait as she has it too and always knew I had it but my Dr’s didn’t have a record of it. To keep my haemoglobin up I take feroglobin liquid from superdrug.
Thanks so much u have really reassured me. I can at least let my mum kno and she will be a bit calmer too.
Hi Fran, no worries I’m glad I could help. I’ve had 3 ops with no problem. My Dr had no record of it either but I remember being told when I had my first op at 14. Good luck with your op, I’m hoping to have my bandages off today so that I can finally shower x
Hi Fran & shelly I’ve also got sickle cell trait and have had many operation lol gall bladder removed after gallery stones was my first operation. Because you only have a trait everything is fine, it’s only if you have full sickle cell that it becomes a slight problem but not major. I’ve always know about my trait so I always inform any medical providers. The only thing I would suggest is taking iron tablets 3 weeks before any surgery just to be safe. I’m now 1 month post op and loving my new breast.
I also recommend using vitamin E and pure Shea butter on your incisions and some scar tape.
I hope this is useful
Hi Donna, that’s really helpful thank you! I’m 2 weeks post op now but will have to get some scar tape. Thank you! X
Rhian xx I’m really excited now 11 days to go !!!
Dr mounir is the only dr I’ve seen he’s a lovely dr made me feel at ease
he said I will definitely need an uplift sooner rather than later maybe 2/3 years but I’m ok with that to be honest as it might be longer just not ready for the scars
Oh Jackie I’m so excited for you!! Send me some pics when you’ve had them done. Are you going for 550cc? I’m definitely not ready for the scarring but an uplift and implants at the same time wasn’t offered to me. Just a massive implant! Haha! Just working out the rest of my money situation then I should be able to book a date! I wanted march but that might have been a tad optimistic haha xx
