Ladies who have had their ops, when were you able to lift your children again? I have a 3 year old and wondering how long I’ll not be able to lift to cuddle him. Obviously I know definitely not 6 weeks but I wonder after that

I’m worried about this too as I have a 19 month old and a 7 year old. I’ve got someone to help for a week but been looking at techniques like going down low and holding them tightly etc x

I’m nearly 3 weeks post op, I have an 11 month old, it’s pretty impossible not to hold them, i was just more careful when lifting her, like you said, crouch down and don’t stretch to lift them! I probably never done this the first 3 days but after that i has no choice really! however my recovery has been amazing, hardly any pain or bruising and pretty much doing most things as normal after a week, just obviously taking it extra careful xx

This the one thing I’m most worried about, my hubby has taken a week off to do the school run so not too bad but lifting my children will be next to impossible, especially when my too youngest are 2 and 6months (well she will be 6 months when I have my Ba.) The other two are 7 and 5 so they don’t need picking up (might pop a stitch if I do?)

Pop a stitch? I would picking up my 7 year old. I can’t pick him up now let alone after surgery ??

Thanks girls. I’m really nervous about it but probably over thinking. It’s only 6 weeks!
