I’m nearly four weeks post op, I haven’t done any exercising since my op as told. But I’m just wondering if anyone has been doing light exercising or even just squats with no weights?

I’m nearly 4 weeks PO too , but I’m sticking to the advice I was given by the nurse . I’m not going to do any exercises until I’m 6weeks PO …. Before my op I use to do sit ups and squats every morning .

I was speaking to the nurse who walked me down to theatre about this and he said aslong as i dont do any strenuous chest exercises like weights there is no reason you cant return and do lower body exercises so ill be going back around 3-4 weeks 🙂 obviously you know your own body tho and you will know what you can manage or if anythings feeling too uncomfortable! Im itching to get back and im not even one week post op yet so please let me know if you do return how you found it! xxx

I’m 5 days PO and going from exercising 5 days a week to nothing is killing me skready lol I have an appointment with the nurse on Monday so going to see what she says. When I first met my surgeon pre op he said I could run again at 4weeks but sounds too early to me! Xxxxx

I’m worried about this too as I’m usually at the gym or running a few times a week. I read on here a while ago that you defo can’t do any exercise for 6 weeks and it’s something to do with not raising your heart rate too much or something xx

I’ve just been doing long walks with my dog. I can’t meet my surgeon till 8 weeks post op because he’s going on holiday. Two months with no gym!! ?

I’m really interested in this too as I’m a total gym freak. I’ve been told it’s to do with rising your heart rate too. Nurse said at the two week check you may get cleared for light legs like gentle spin/incline treadmill walks, but nothing at all strenuous’ until after the 6 week check. My surgeon said I may be able to start short runs again at 6 weeks- I run marathons and do 40 miles training practically every week, so this time not training is going to be so tough for me, but all SO worth it in the scheme of things!! Xx
