I’ve had a consultation at MYA and have my appointment booked to speak to a surgeon but in the meantime I have been to another private hospital for a consultation with a surgeon.
He’s given me two options regarding implants. Because of how bad my breast have gone since having two children (I Breast fed both for a year each) I was a 34D before children and for some reason mine have disappeared to a non existent 34A. What I mean by that is that the cup is only made up of loose skin, the surgeon said I have empty envelopes.
My first option is to have a straight forward implant over the muscle but due to excessive skin, I will feel them and also risk being able to see rippling on the skin. My second option is an uplift and implant under the muscle which will give me perfect boobs but the risk of losing the nipple is 1 in 5. He said the risk is very realistic with this procedure. Is this something they stress at MYA with an uplift?
I look forward to some replies. The decision to have breast implants took me long enough and now I’m faced with an even tougher decision.
Awe Hunni! That would have scared the living daylight out of me! I had a uplift and implants 12 days ago, ive fed 3 babies so know your pain. I have to say nipple loss/necrosis was never mentioned during consultation. I have a medical background so I knew in my own head there would be a slight risk but it really wasn’t brought to my attention my my surgeon at the hospital group. I saw it on the consent form along with all the other risks. I certainly didn’t know the risk was 1 in 5 :-0 my nippples are fine they were numb for a couple of days which had me panicking but now they are over the top sensitive. Good luck with your decision Hunni, I have to say for me already I know it was the right decision. I realise now how much my mum boobs had been upsetting me and knocking my confidence xxx

I really can’t imagine myself with breasts, I tried the ones they give you to put under a vest to give an idea of what they will look like and I must say, immediately I felt excited and I loved how I looked.
I can’t understand why the surgeon I saw was so bold about the loss of nipple. I knew it was a risk already but like you said, I wasn’t aware it was so high.

Hiya Becky I’m 6 month p.o. from uplift and implants i was told by my surgeon about the risks of losing a nipple but I weighed my options up I had been wanting to have my boobs done for many year so figured if I was 1 of the unlucky ones and lost a nipple then id just have to deal with it just like I had been doing for many years with my lack of breasts xx
