Hi girls
I have my surgery in 3 weeks and want to be nice and prepared. I’m looking at ordering the macom bra to wear after the surgery but has seen so many posts from girls saying how awful it is and that they ended up getting the M&S one instead. Some have even said that the macom can potentially increase the chance of rippling?
What’s your experiences with the macom bra? If it’s not worth it, how would I know which M&S one to buy? Ta x
I bought two macom despite being advised by my PC to get an M&S sports bra because I thought they must be better as they’re made for surgery. I may of just bought it too small but I did get a size bigger than I was pre-op and atm I literally can’t wear it without it reducing me to tears haha. I’m only 1DPO so don’t just take my word for it but I did have to go out this morning and buy an M&S sports bra because I had a long car journey home from the hospital and my surgeon didn’t want me to not wear a bra and the Macom was so tight and so painful that I literally couldn’t handle it. My boyfriend felt so evil trying to do it up for me whilst I just screamed in agony haha. Wearing the M&S sports bra now and it’s so much comfier and was such a relief. Apparently my Macom will fit better once the strappings off, but I wish I had bought one Macom and one M&S bra as I’ve now spent £100 on bras due to getting two of them xx
Thanks for the info! How did you know what size M&S one to get? Do they come in cup sizes or S, M etc xx
Id seen other girls photos so knew what it looked like. It’s black/grey and had yellow seams!! I just tried on a couple of sizes and got the one that fitted most comfortably on top of my strapping without being too loose, I got the 36DD in the end and it’s a little tight but apparently that’s recommend to be extra supportive but it’s so much comfier than the Macom. Xx
100% the Macom signature bra. It’s designed for after surgery. I wasted so much money guessing what size I would need in the marks and spencer one, I’m now on my third marks and spencer one due to swelling going down and the only one that’s consistently fitted me all the way though was my Macom. Found it comfy aswell xx
Hiya hun I got one of each the macom I Bra (£46) and Marks and Spencer’s post surgery bra (£25)
I find both of these to be good but in different ways, the macom offers a lot better support in my opinion but the Marks and Spencer bra is so much more softer and comfortable (especially on sore nipples) so I find myself alternating between the two every few days. x
Thanks girls! I’ll order one of each I think 🙂 did anyone buy the breast strap as well? x
Did Yous go up a back size with macom or go with your normal back size? X
Hey girls, I’m going in for my op on the 20th of June and am sooo excited after looking through everyones comments. The bras for after – they told me they sell them in the MYA clinic? Has anyone bought them from there? Im not sure what to do… should I buy one macom one and the m&s one just incase the macom is uncomfortable? x
Hi I’m also indecisive about what post surgery bra to get, my PC has said that mya now do their own bras so I’m thinking to go with them but my only issue is that it has the hooks in the back so I’m worried it might be more difficult for me to do up myself as I might not be able to move my arms that much after surgery 🙁
I’m 1 day post op and i’m wearing my macom, having no issues at all it actually makes me feel quite secure and i would not have a clue which size sports bra to buy. Recova is another i’ve just ordered as my surgeon recommended it… both have discount codes (mybreast for macom and recova10 for recova) good luck!!
Whats your after pain like? What size did you go for if you don’t mind me asking?
Hi Alf, what size of back did you order for the bras? And what bra did you order from recova ? Xx
I’m 3 weeks post op I’ve wore my macom everyday give or take a few hours break in the m and s bra had no problems I think they’re quite comfy to but not so nice on sensitive nipples lol x
