Make up..

Hey girls,
Just wondered if any of youse wore makeup on surgery day? Only asking as I have bad acne scarring like really red scarring that I absolutely hate and I’m really conscious of it 🙁 the only person that has seen me without makeup for the last couple of years is my boyfriend, I can’t even be infront of my family without it and have to put it on when I’m in the house as I just can’t stand looking at my face! Did anyone wear concealer or foundation? I’ve heard you can’t wear any makeup at all on surgery day but honestly it’s so hard for me to not cover my scarring let alone let anyone else see it!!

they do advise not to put anything on at all following a shower before the op such as moisturiser or deodorant. for those things to be stated, i can’t imagine they’d allow make up. have you spoken to your surgeon regarding this? as they may allow you to come in with it on and shower at the hospital? xx

Aw try not to get worried about it!
I wore makeup there both times, then removed it before the op, I wouldn’t worry, they will see people with spots all the time. You can always put it back on when you go home. X

Forgot to say, I’ve had other ops where I asked if they wanted my makeup removed and they said no just leave it if I want. I did remove it as I hate having makeup on when I go to sleep, so thought I’d feel gross waking up from anaesthetic with it on x

I have acne scarring too and wasn’t comfortable with the no make up on surgery day too but I went along with it and tbh when it comes to waiting to go into surgery and afterwards scars were the last of my worry. You will be fine I’m sure the surgeons have seen it all before x
