This may sound pathetic ..
Can you wear make up on your face on the Op day ?? Just usual mascara , eyeliner etc. Or is it a no no ? !
completely clean face hun, also no deodorant, perfume, nail varnish or fake nails xx
I had make up on and no one told me to remove it! Only mascara and a bit of foundation and concealer to hide my bags lol I was going to wash it off but when no one said anything I just left it! There was no way I was going out the house with no make up
On! Xx
Thanks ladies. Lol Danielle ! know exactly what you mean. I’m sure a coat of mascara could go undetected !? ;-))
Depends who you get I guess, my nurse look at my face nails and hair! She was on it!!
So nothing on nails either ? what about toe nails ?? x
You’re not allowed to have anything on at all, just clean skin so no makeup, no deodorant, no moisturiser, no nail varnish/ gel nails/extensions, no fake tan, no extensions etc xx
Jen I was told nails off, all nail varnish off even on toes too by my nurse at my pre op said my surgeon was very strict xx
Toes and finger nail beds need to be seen whilst you’re under to monitor alongside oxygen levels for circulation purposes.
Make up brushes contain literally thousands of bacterial organisms even clean ones. And most make up is flammable, is it really worth the risk of introducing a major infection from a make up brush just to avoid looking a bit pasty for a few hours?
You’re not going to be able to do your make up for a few days anyway. What does one more matter?
Very true Cliona. I don’t want to be rubbing at my panda eyes if I can’t lift my arms that night. I’m just vain. Ha! I didn’t know the reason why they need to see nail beds, interesting ! thanks for enlightening me ! Xx
Definately not! You aren’t even supposed to wear deodorant, skin needs to be product free. Plus if you are going in for surgery I don’t see why you would really wear makeup anyway?
@jen I must be the odd one out then haha no one bothered at all I had Mr traynor at first trust so maybe it’s different at different places. Technically no one told me not to wear make up! I did keep my nails varnish free though and no deodorant etc. I know it was only one day but I really don’t like being seen with no make up! I even applied it 2 mins after pushing my daughter out haha and even though I was sore and strapped up
After surgery I had no problems at all doing my make up 🙂 xx
