I’m currently in the process of getting a new job but I’m concerned about having so much time off work if its a new job! i’m currently a beauty therapist and do at least 6 hours of massage on the days i work but hoping to work on a make up counter, so it won’t be as strenuous. How much time off have you needed in either of these roles please?xx
I am a make up artist and am booking my op for between big jobs. I was told by my PC that I would need 2 weeks…. and then my arms would be ok to be up for long periods of time. Good luck!
I’m a beauty therapist, I only took a week off but went back doing more nails etc, didn’t do any massage for weeks, just booked them in with other therapists. Xx
Hi I’ve boozed a week off. I’m a Nail Technician and beauty therapist. I’m just not aloud to do massage waxing ect for an extra week or so.
Booked off* i wish I was boozed off haha.
Thanks for your help girls! At my current job we don’t get many treatments that aren’t massage and am allowed as much time off as i need. I’m just not sure what to do about the makeup counter job xx
Georgie, from experience working on a counter, the time you’re actually doing makeup is minimal compared to the time you’re not doing makeup! I think you’d be ok 🙂 and generally wouldnt get makeovers back to back (although depends on where youre working!) I have 4 people to do (twice) for a wedding 2 weeks after I’m planning my op, my PC said I would be absolutely fine
thanks Alice! fingers crossed i get the job and then can get the boobies! lol xx

Hi there! I understand your concern about needing time off when starting a new job. I’ve worked both as a beauty therapist and on a makeup counter, so I can share my experience.

As a beauty therapist, especially doing 6 hours of massage, I needed more time to recover due to the physical strain. I usually took at least one day off after 2-3 days of work to rest.
Working on a makeup counter is less strenuous physically, so you might find that you need less time off to recover. However, it really depends on your own body and how you feel.
