Hey, Probably a strange question, my ops on the 9th sept, I know you have to have no makeup on for op, did you just wear it there and then take it off?
Im so pale I will just look ill without it lol
Also, after the op, how long until you could put it on ok as i know lifting arms is an issues and im having unders
xx
You’ll be fine to put makeup on straight after, you’ll have more use of your arms than you think! My boyfriend was picking me up so I was the same haha xx
Oh good! I was worried like what if i couldnt wear it for days lol! My boyfriends coming with me so will have to deal with the mess haha! xx
I was also really worried about this girls lol! it sounds ridiculous doesn’t it, im literally gutted I cant wear fake tan or make up lol. I have fake tanned since I was 14 because I am SOOOOO pale naturally. I cant deal with walking in there completely bare lol! hopefully I can do my make up after and feel better 🙂 how long til I can fake tan my arms and legs at least?! lol x
Haha, its all the little things we panic about! I dont fake tan, only because im so bad at it lol!! but I guess it would be at least 6 weeks! Im not even a girl that cakes make up on but i do need something even just to make me feel better xx
I reckon I could do my arms and legs before 6 weeks lol. they aren’t near my incisions lol. if I can move enough ill be slapping it on when im out, literally like my safety blanket lol
xx
My skin resting now 🙂 normally I have make up everyday but now it’s my time to just do nothing 🙂 and after surgery I just want to go home to my own bed / sofa not really been thinking how I look Hihi I have pics from hospital and yes real zombie haha it’s normal
I was thinking the same thing I really don’t want to travel there without makeup on. I even wear it when im in the house on my own. I can only imagine what im going to look like when I wake up after the op without it on I just hope I don’t scare anyone with my b4makeup face lol. can you go on the sunbed before op? I also have micro ring hair extensions in. are they aloud?? xxxx
you can use a sunbed but not 7 days before your op. also you should avoid them after because of the scars. the scars will go darker in colour which then makes them stand out. maybe you could cover them I don’t know.
I don’t think you can have any metal things, so im not sure if hair extensions are allowed because of the metal clips, best to check this with your PC xx
I didn’t wear make up to the surgery! I didn’t wear make up for about 2weeks after either as wasn’t really doing anything other than little trips out to get my MLD massages and to sainburys etc!
Your skin will be Very oily after for first week or two so best to let your skin breathe so you don’t end up with spots etc!
No one will see you going in, you’ll be in a room and then in surgery! X
I wore makeup there then took it off and I put a little on after surgery just for the journey home after that I just went bare for about 10days as my skin went oily! with fake tan you can fake tan after a week I think just avoid the area that’s what I did , tan makes everything look better !! Xxx
Hi, can I ask why your skin gets oily after the op?? I dont like my skin in the first place and always need my face on :’) if it gets oily I don’t want to make it worse though…
I wore make up too and took it off before I went to theatre. I’m nearly 3weeks PO and still getting oily skin but not as bad as it was! X
Hi I wore tan and have my hair extensions in and had my op today xx
Any type of metal has to be removed before you go in for the op. I think it’s to stop you from getting surgical burns or something. It includes any piercings, jewellery and hair extensions.. If you wear them to the hospital, they will ask if you have any metal on your body and will ask you to remove them before going in xx
It’s only hair extensions that contain metal though, even your hair band to tie your hair up is supposed to be one without metal xx
Haha well I didn’t even think of that when they asked about jewellery and stuff iv got microbond wefts in and I was fine xx
I got told to have them taken out so I had to pay to get them removed I only had them in for 5 weeks so was a bit gutted. But ask just incase some places are different. And good luck for your op xx
@ambercallaghan it sucks but you have to take out your micro rings 🙁 even if you think they might not notice they might see them on the day and refuse to do the surgery or something so it’s not worth the risk. I think it might be because if you need to be resuscitated with a defibrillator then any metal on your body will probably heat up and you’ll wake up with a frazzled scalp and no hair left haha x
Thanks girls, I got mine taken out last night ? already booked to have them redone once my op is over with though xx
