You’ll be fine to put makeup on straight after, you’ll have more use of your arms than you think! My boyfriend was picking me up so I was the same haha xx

I was thinking the same thing I really don’t want to travel there without makeup on. I even wear it when im in the house on my own. I can only imagine what im going to look like when I wake up after the op without it on I just hope I don’t scare anyone with my b4makeup face lol. can you go on the sunbed before op? I also have micro ring hair extensions in. are they aloud?? xxxx

you can use a sunbed but not 7 days before your op. also you should avoid them after because of the scars. the scars will go darker in colour which then makes them stand out. maybe you could cover them I don’t know.
I don’t think you can have any metal things, so im not sure if hair extensions are allowed because of the metal clips, best to check this with your PC xx

I didn’t wear make up to the surgery! I didn’t wear make up for about 2weeks after either as wasn’t really doing anything other than little trips out to get my MLD massages and to sainburys etc!

Your skin will be Very oily after for first week or two so best to let your skin breathe so you don’t end up with spots etc!

No one will see you going in, you’ll be in a room and then in surgery! X

I wore makeup there then took it off and I put a little on after surgery just for the journey home after that I just went bare for about 10days as my skin went oily! with fake tan you can fake tan after a week I think just avoid the area that’s what I did , tan makes everything look better !! Xxx

Hi, can I ask why your skin gets oily after the op?? I dont like my skin in the first place and always need my face on :’) if it gets oily I don’t want to make it worse though…

@lynzzi25 hi just saw your post about micro ring extensions, did you have to remove them for your op? I’ve got mine on Thursday and can’t get hold of anyone at the clinic to ask xx

Any type of metal has to be removed before you go in for the op. I think it’s to stop you from getting surgical burns or something. It includes any piercings, jewellery and hair extensions.. If you wear them to the hospital, they will ask if you have any metal on your body and will ask you to remove them before going in xx

It’s only hair extensions that contain metal though, even your hair band to tie your hair up is supposed to be one without metal xx

I got told to have them taken out so I had to pay to get them removed I only had them in for 5 weeks so was a bit gutted. But ask just incase some places are different. And good luck for your op xx

@ambercallaghan it sucks but you have to take out your micro rings 🙁 even if you think they might not notice they might see them on the day and refuse to do the surgery or something so it’s not worth the risk. I think it might be because if you need to be resuscitated with a defibrillator then any metal on your body will probably heat up and you’ll wake up with a frazzled scalp and no hair left haha x
