So I’m exactly 3 weeks post op today.
Thought id tell you all about my experience from the start.
So January some time i decided to go for it and book my first initial consultation and I had my meeting with my PC (ONLY TIME I EVER SAW HER). After that i got booked in for a consultation in Feb with Mr Traynor with the aim of having on 28th March, I then got a message saying I would have to go to Liverpool for this consultation because the one in Manchester had been cancelled, this was not possible for me so i changed surgeon to Mr Netri he is new to MYA and i must admit i was a bit nervous about this but he is the most friendliest person and made me feel at ease the whole process. Again at my meeting with Mr Netri it was another PC who sat in with me.
Fast forward to my pre-op now with the nurse, i got told here she would be with me the whole process and this made me feel better knowing post op id have familiar face who can keep track of my progress (WRONG AGAIN!) at this meeting i thought i could go over sizes again with a PC but they had all gone home conveniently! (may i add my money had all been paid at this point –> so why would they bother?)
I then arranged a meeting with my PC to travel from York to see her to go over my decision on size as i had been offered 350 375 400CC i had been told to get there between 10:30 and 11 am, i got there the earlier of the two and by 11:10am someone came over and asked who i was there to see to be told she wasnt in!!!! (so again another PC had to help me try sizes!)
Day of OP, the nurses and staff at Preston are AMAZING! everything i needed was attended to. I had to be there for 11am got there slightly early got took to room gown on , pregnancy test, all the nurses did checks, surgeon drew on and said i wouldnt be long till i go in. Well that didn’t go to plan because my surgery time got changed with out anyone telling me so i had to wait 3/4 hours from being admitted (maybe i have bad luck hey!) I basically got swapped around with someone so it delayed me further! After surgery i dint cope very well i was in a lot of pain (WOW it sounds like i moan a lot, i dont honest haha!!) They were quite concerned because of my Blood pressure and I had to be given opiats because pain was so bad, I didn’t eat until 9:30pm at night and luckily they did let me go home after that but i thought they was going to keep me, had a wee, drains removed, got home around midnight.
One week post op appointment was not with the Nurse who i had been told it would be and it was with a nurse from another centre who had travelled for day! (what confused me was my nurse was in as i had been emailing her about me throwing up for the week after surgery but didn’t see me). THE SCARS are AMAZING sooooo small and I’m so happy with them!
I then got another appointment for week following which i finally got the all clear to have a shower and have the dressing removed (again different nurse from different location)
Week later leads me to now, mixed emotions at moment as thought they’d look bigger and things, but its still early days but now I’ve finally had chance thought id give a full account of my experience and to see if anyone else has had similar, in total during process only person I’ve seen on more than one occasion is the surgeon other than that its been numerous PC’s and nurses…
Pictures to be added soon as my computer lets me!!
wow lauren. sound tough. i find my PC doesnt get in touch as much as she did before i booked and paid which is rather annoying. but i kinda like the whole being left too it and await surgery day (3rd may)
i tried implants with a few different PCs too but i quite liked that as tjey all seemed to say 375 suited my frame which made me feel less nervous about my choice so i guess thats a bonus.
your results look amazing too. i bet your thrilled x
I think they look amazing! What size/profile/placement did you go for? Xx
ABI: I had 400CC HP Unders, i keep thinking they are small (when looking down) but they dont look small on photo’s! Cant wait to be on holiday in August and wear nice Bikini’s
DIANE: my PC only texted me about me making payment to secure surgery and things, never actually saw me face to face after initial consultation, but either way i have had the surgery now, my advice would be for people to not pay all in one go in full as gives them a excuse to stay in contact longer haha!!
yeah the ones i saw all said 400CC but on day i said to surgeon put in the size you think will suit best and he said he would, i didn’t know until i was discharged what size i had i was that out of it, good luck with surgery xxxx
Oh gosh Lauren that just sounds an absolute nightmare from start to finish! It’s a lot of money to pay so obviously a more reliable service wouldn’t go a miss. I am sorry to hear that it’s been like this for you. And don’t worry about your boobs they look great!!! You can still see they’re sat up high so just need to drop. They’ll be a great size once they do and they’re looking fantastic already. They change all the time xxxxxxx
VICKY: yeah i think i have just been unlucky! My boyfriend paid and he keeps saying i should complain because it was a lot of money and i have been messed around quite a lot! I would recommend my surgeon 100% just think that they need more consistency in terms or who you see pre and post op as only way they can judge progress is by pictures other wise! Everyone I’ve been in contact with has been friendly but would be better if it was familiar face as it is life changing experience! Thank you my lovely, cant wait for them to drop! xxxxx
They look really nice bab!
I’ve had a few problems with MYA too just a tiny bit disorganised and they do need to sort themselves out a bit because it is a joke. They’ve cancelled one of my appointments, booked me into the wrong clinic when I turned up and stuff and I haven’t seen my
PC more than once but she does email me back when I have questions.
Although the girls are a tad shit I know the surgeons are good and that’s all I care about! But I hope mine turn out like yours! I’m shitting it haha.
I’m literally feeling like imma be in your boat but don’t think you need to worry about the boobs, they’re lush 🙂
Xxxx
HOLLIE: thank you, yeah i think the same as you! for all that money you’d expect to be more organised like in terms of appointments and making you feel reassured. Its a big change to life you having them done so I feel it would have gone a lot more better for me if i had familiar face. My surgeon was amazing and would recommend him to everyone!
But yeah! Good-luck!
hope no other girls experience as much bad luck as i did along process haha xxxxx
As mentioned a few times I personally find the admin/girls behind the desk shit! Who ever I’ve spoken to during my prcoess so far (not had op yet) has either lied to me, made things up, got dates wrong, or just not go back in touch with me. Think it’s well known by now that after you’ve paid your money the care side is shocking. the surgeons are all great but it’s just unfortunate we all have to deal with the nit wits first. Xx
Gemma: Yeah it is disappointing, once money is handed care side of it goes, i remember during first consultation ‘ill be there every step of the way’ that was a lie LOL xx
I’d Just like to add… Everyone i have seen during progress has been wonderful. Just feel like my experience to some others has been a lot different. Anyhow i have my new boobies and i’m happy! xxxx
Agree !! I was refused by the clinic manager at Fitzroy to speak to the nurse because I was in so much pain . Awful . Your scars look beaut so thin and neat you’re gonna have a killer cleavage !
.
I know I’m so happy about my scars, they were the one thing that i was scared about, even today they looking better so neat!
Hope everything is ok with you now Hayley x x x x
I would definitely not recommend mya.
I have been seen by different people everything time I have been to the manchester clinic.
The only time I spoke to my PC was when she was wanting payment (never saw her in person).
After surgery the nurses didn’t give me any information atall, I couldn’t of told you if I had partials/unders or whether their HP or not..
suppose to go today for my 2 week check up to get my dressings off but it’s been moved to tomorrow because th nurse had phoned in sick, then get another call saying she has to move me to half 5 cause the nurse is finishing earlier tomorrow now.
Think they forget we all work I’ve only just returned to work after 2 weeks so defiantly won’t be albe to take any time of to attend dur in work.
Not to mention she said well it’s only your 6 week check up! Which it’s not!
After care is shockong!
REGAN: wow sounds like you have had a tough time also!! I just thought I was unlucky! hope that you get it all sorted and I was a bit like you after surgery I didn’t really know what to expect I hadn’t even been told i needed to be on High Protein Diet until 1 week PO. But guess just have to get on with it now Xxx
Sounds like they’re shit with everyone, I’ve got an appointment tomorrow and have a feeling it’s going to be cancelled or moved like my last one.
as if they said it’s your 6 weeks when it’s not haha and the whole “I’ll be there every step of the way” comment is so true.
Why we put up with them just for some boobs I do not know.
I’m sure if we provided the service they do, to basically everyone by the sounds of it, Id probably be sacked haha.
2 weeks till my op, let’s hope they don’t kill me haha
you’ll be absolutely fine at the hospital, the day itself the service was brilliant and all the nurses were lovely, they came everytime i needed more pain meds or was crying in pain hahah, i was awful after operation my blood pressure dropped and i was very sick. My surgeon was amazing, i briefly remember him coming to check up on me but i was still in and out of sleep!
Shame other people have had bad experiences 🙁 xxx
