Hi everyone, just thought i’d post this in the forum as i’m suprised nobody written anything about it before!

A couple of days ago i noticed that when i lift my right arm, i get lines in my skin under my right boob. They start at the incision and run downwards; it looks like something is attached too tight and a cord sticks out of my skin. It’s also quite painful, especially to the touch; it looks as though its being pulled. I phoned my nurse to check it was normal and she told me it was called Mondors Cords and is common-ish after breast surgery. They are like varicose veins and can form after surgery. And although they are painful, they are harmless and will subside after a month or 2.

Just thought i’d post this and ask has anybody else had these? And have they gone away?

http://dr-dowden.com/faqs/implmond.html this explains what they are and shows pictures incase anybody is interested – i’ll also put a picture of mine on

    xx

Hi Graciemac, thanks for posting this as I’ve never heard of this either. I’ve got my op at the end of the month so it’s good to know about things that can happen after. Do u mind if I add u to see the pic of it? x
