Ladies who have had their surgery, what type of clothes would you suggest for immediately after surgery and going home in?
Same for the first week or so recovery.
I’m not sure what pain or range of movement I’ll have in my arms so recommendations most welcome xx

Clothes wise I would say anything that zips or buttons up the front!

Work on the assumption that you’ll have virtually no range of movement in your arms. Normally they recommend front fastening tops but make sure they’re not too tight because it will still be tricky to get them on if they’re too tight. I cut up some of my hubbys tshirts, cut off the sleeves to make big arm holes and cut out the neck to make it bigger, I found stepping into them was the easier than trying to get it over my head…definitely not for going out though, not the most stylish look! Also, I really recommend getting some comfy non thong knickers. You spend so much time sitting propped up and moving around becomes a bit of a sliding movement, thongs can get really uncomfortable. I ended up in my hubbys boxers by day 4! Good luck! x

I just had my surgery 11 days ago.

I would suggest a zip hoody for straight after your surgery and leggings or joggers. Easy to get back into as you will be in a little pain, kinda spacey from the drugs and have limited movement of your arms.

For the week after I wore button up shirts and leggings.

Make sure your hoody and shirts are baggy! I tried to put on a fitted shirt and it was difficult (not because it didn’t fit/too tight) but because of the limited movement your arms can do to throw the shirt on and get your arms through. More material makes it easier.

I did the mistake of trying to wear shorts with my leggings straight after the surgery…..it was too difficult for me to use both my arms to pull the button closed…..I had to ask for help. Definition just wear the most comfortable clothes you can find.
