MRSA

I know it’s probably stupid, but I’m terrified my op will be postponed because of a positive mrsa swab? I have my pre op on wednesday and I’m really worried!! I’m a student living in a gross student house and I’m worried about it x

Harriet i was just like you!!! I was 100000% convinced i had it. It is very very rare my nurse said out of a thousand girls that have been at her clinic only 1 test came back positive xxx

oh really? that rare? thank you so much that’s made me feel a little better. I just worry because my house is so vile and my shared bathroom and also we have a house hamster and I want these tests to come back negative soooo badly xxx

I haven’t his worry my pre op is tmw eeek lol xx

Babe i clean dirty houses for a living, from old people to young people with tons of pets, i was so convinced but it was negative. Youll be absoloutley fine xxx

Gemma, mrsa is a bug you get mostly in hopsitals i believe but is also carried in pets, etc etc, in your pre op they do blood pressure, height and weight, and they swab your nose and armpit for mrsa. if you have it, they let you know within four working days, they put you on a week of antibiotics, then test you again. If you were positive to begin with, then you need three clear tests before having an op. x

I work in a hospital and really thought I’d test positive for Mrsa but I was fine X good luck

I had my pre op today , it’s swabs in nose armpit and groin crease, told it’s rare too xx

I was sooooooooo worried about my MRSA swabs coming back positive but they didn’t I was so relieved. @kel I only swabbed inside nostril and armpit didn’t know they ask for groin crease? X

I’m not with mya I was suprisrd I had to do the line were my underwear goes lol wasn’t expecting that , didn’t have blood tests either just blood pressure ,height weight and photos xx

Search it on the forum there was a girl who came back positive who posted on here and read her story x

I was so worried about mine coming back positive! I’m a nurse and I had literally been looking after a patient with MRSA the week of my pre op and mine came back negative! So I wouldn’t worry 🙂
