Well ladies,
Am now proud owner of 2 new assets and am glad I took his recommendation for 380’s ( I thought they looked huge at the consultation but had time to think about it) as was booked for 340 hp overs. He said I would be a full D cup then as opposed to a C.
Travelled up by train from Brighton, tube to Highgate, 15 min easy walk to hospital. Not overly impressed with reception girls ( I expected a ‘Waitrose’ greeting rather than a lot of chat behind my clipboard before they deemed to talk to me!) but could have been my nerves….I hate rudeness hence I love Waitrose!
Anyway was taken to my room, 210, Mr Adamo came in after a while & we discussed size. One thing I have learnt from the post ops on this forum is to trust the surgeons as they have the experience & not me……was apprehensive I maybe too big but hey whatever am only having it done once!!
Was checked by nurse & anaethesatist, changed and walked to theatre. Was not really nervous, more excited like having a baby…..something lovely at the end! Canular insertion was fine (relax I reckon is the key) then put to sleep.
Came round in recovery and immediately had a quick feel then smiled……lovely feeling. Wheeled back to my room for sips of water, felt quite groggy & did some deep breathing which I also reckon is a key thing to do, after 15 mins felt a little better in time for Jeremy Kyle!! Ha ha I thought so apt for the situation.
Was fine with tea & small amount of toast (didn’t want to ruin my seabass & icecream supper) just ate slowly & just ate a bit of everything. Have a sickness phobia so didn’t want to push my luck (I also told the anaethitist so he also gave me anti sickness injection…….would defo advise this is you haven’t had a GA before, even though I have had 3 before my phobia is just not worth getting stressed with).
Stayed up taking pictures on my phone, texting/speaking to friends & family until had sleeping tablet (saved one to bring home for tonight…..shhhh) then slept on & off until woken at 6.
Worst thinig from the surgery I reckon is how your throat feels due to intubation…..sore & really dry, like when you are getting a throat infection. I drank 2 full jugs of water during my stay & am still feeling it a bit now.
Boobs are bigger than yesterday & level with my armpits, feel quite warm but also softish, am also prob more swollen than yesterday & will ask the nurse if I can use a small ice pack. Have taken arnica for week (bloody ran out yesterday so waiting for more today) and applied bio oil twice a day. Not sure whether it does much (have breastfed 3 kids and no marks to speak of) but I think the massage action is a good thing.
Am off to sit in front of the telly now but will be on later, ask anything you want to know & I will try & answer stuff I may have forgotten to add…….seems so long already!!

Well done and congrats!!!
I had mine on 25th and feel fab. Not had any pain really, slept like a baby every night since. Got up this morning and can feel nothing, not even discomfort!!! Managed to wash my hair, straighten it and get dressed and feel back to normal now. keep getting the odd spinning head but nothing major. Think that maybe down to the fact that I can’t resist the cigarettes!!!! Happy healing!!

Hi Lucy

xx
woohoo-well done Rachel, congratulations hun xx
Hi girls,
Feeling a bt more human today, didn’t anticipate how much it takes out of you (ha ha). Swelling has gone slightly & sleeping is ok with 2 pillows + V cushion last night. Am doing NOTHING but watch tv, taped loads of stuff on planner which is paying off now.
Lucy, I was admitted just before 12 & was off to theatre about 1.30, hardly time to unpack, work out the safe (dur, took me ages) and pop into my paper knickers! I wear contact lens as am really short sighted, they ‘lead’ me theatre as I was only across the hall & took my glasses to my room……I couldn’t even recognise Mr Adamo, was really funny!
Sonia, when is your appt? Must be hard reading these stories when you don’t know what they will recommend, all I can say is they really know what they are doing & would trust their opinion to do what is best for you. x
My camera has finally arrive & I canot work out how to get the pre/post pictures off my phone but will try & at least put up the few I have (will try on my sofeminine profile…..god I am so crap at this tech stuff!).
Hope you all ok, thanks for your good wishes & I will get back to the tv shortly!
