Hey all i found all of your stories very helpful so hopefully mine will be useful to someone.
Admission time at Doncaster at 8am, the receptionist was lovely and showed me up to my room. The nurse came to check me in about 10 mins later. Then a little while later the anesthesiologist came in and he was lovely. I told him about my concerns about being sick and that i suffer from travel sickness. He was great and put me at ease explaining that he uses a special combination of drugs. Mr Kazazzi made an appearance at about 10.10 am. I was pacing the room by this point and getting all hot in my paper knickers and sexy stockings!!! He drew on me and i signed some stuff then literally 2 mins later the nurse walked me to theatre.
This was 10.20 am my nerves really kicked in but as i lay on the bed the anesthesiologist said ” dont worry darling just close your eyes”
So i did, and woke up in recovery mentally shaking with an oxygen mask on, drifted in and out of sleep until eventually they moved me back to my room.
Have no idea what time it was but my husband said i was gone about 2 hours. I was very very drowsy but started to sip some water and then the nurse brought some toast but i just couldnt manage it, i felt so groggy. But eventually at about 2 pm i needed to go to the loo so the nurse helped me, wish i had never moved because when i returned i was very sick! I have a huge fear of being sick so it did shake me up for a bit, but actually it totally woke me up!! I spent the rest of the day sleeping on and off and sipping water.
The nurse got me walking about 6pm then i slowly got dressed and she removed my drains, which just felt weird, my left one got stuck the nurse said ” gosh that one was stuck in your boots!” and i was discharged at about 6.30 pm. Got all my meds but decided to just stick to good old paracetemol. Back at the hotel i had a jacket potatoe and some lemon drizzle cake and slept pretty well up to about 6 am.
All home now and i am over the moon with my boobies, they totally even out my figure, they are not too big and not too small. Everyone i have met from my patient co-ordinator (who rang me on her day off to wish me luck!) to the surgeon and nurses have been fantastic can not fault them at all.
Ps – is it normal to have one numb nipple ?? lol
