Hey ladies,
I had my BA yesterday (4th Dec) and I can tell you it has been an amazing experience!
I first went to MYA in June so I have waited a little while for my own reasons, mainly for extra time off of work over Xmas, etc. Done tons of research and went to a few other places around London to see where I was most comfortable. MYA came out on top.
On the day of my op, my admission time was 9am and I was on the table by 11am! Getting on the table was the scariest part of this entire experience, started getting emotional but my anesthetic doctor cracked jokes and before I knew it, I could feel the drugs going up my arm and quickly fell asleep.
I woke up in a recovery room about 12.45, feeling super drousy, the feeling was surreal. When they realised I was awake they took me back to my room and called my mum in from the waiting room. Was so happy to see her. They kept me in until 5pm after checking I was ok to go toilet/walk and generally be normal.
Once I was home I ate some chicken and got straight into bed. Today is PO day 2, I wouldn’t say I’m in excruciating pain like a lot of women with BA’s warned me, but my chest is SO tight, lower back is in bits from sleeping upright and had to learn to breathe rising my belly as you can’t rise your chest. Not being able to lift my arms is most annoying! But the key is to just keep up with the painkiller/antibiotics times and drink lots of water.
I’ve attached a pic of the strapping over me, can’t see my boobies until 11th when the nurse takes off the strapping! Cannot wait.
Feel free to ask any questions xxxxxx
