So I had my reop yesterday at Fitzroy with Dr Andrea G. My admission time was 10.00, I arrived at 9.30 and had to sit in the main reception until after 11. ,Must admit I was out of my comfort zone left to sit in a busy recpetion with other patients there for first consulations etc when i looked a complete mess and was super nervous! I had my first op at Highgate and it was a much more pleasant and smooth experience for me.
I got to my room which luckily had to myself, (honestly dont understand how people would be expected to share!) the rooms were very basic, small and so hot and stuffy. The windows wouldnt open so I was a hot mess, Dr Andrea had trouble drawing my pen markings on me as i was so sweaty lol :/
The staff were all fab and very friendly. Especially the staff who prepped me for anesthetic. I cant recommend Dr Andrea enough, he was so professional and friendly and made me feel completely at ease. I had complete trust in him and he even went out of his way to say he would try and fix my double bubble I had from my original surgery even though I was only there to have my capsular contracture removed and implants replaced. I finally went down to theatre at 3.30 and was last on the list. The anesthetic is fine and nothing at all to worry about.
Surgery lasted 1 hour 30 mins… i had a bilateral implant replacement. I originally had 495cc nats and replaced them with 500cc mentors. I did want to go slighlty smaller howerver Dr Andrea advised me this wouldnt be possible without the need of an uplift due to my capsular contracture swelling and stretching my skin for past 2 years. I also changed from UHP to HP so they already appear much smaller and more natural which im thrilled about 🙂
I came around from surgery really quick and was so happy to feel how soft my boobs were. Its so nice to finally be capsular contracture free after 2 years of pain and waiting! I have woke this morning with no major pain at all and havent felt the need to take any pain killers.
One problem i did have is the lack of communication after my op. After my original op my surgeon came to see me before discharge to tell me what to do/not do post op and go through my surgery with me. Unfortunately i didnt get this with Dr Andrea, we bumped into him in the lift as I was getting taken back to my room where he quickly said his goodbyes and wished me well. He mentioned something about removing a hematoma (?) which could have been the cause of my CC and that was it. Nothing really sunk in baring in mind I was still drugged up and expecting to see him again before discharge to ask any questions.
If anybody could send me dos/donts post op id be very grateful. Also wandering if i should have had a breast band or not, i see alot of Dr Andreas patients with one but i have no strapping just my macom..Thanks in advance x
Ive attached my pre op pic with markings and my post op pic taken an hour after surgery
