    hey girls!
well i had my op yesterday so thought id share it with you all, as i found it very useful reading other girls’ stories :) brace yourselves for an essay!!

my admission time was 12pm, so i was advised to get up at 6am to have breakfast because i wouldnt be able to eat then until after my op, and i was allowed to drink water until 10am. i decided not to drink too much though as i didnt like the thought of waking up after the op and having to use a bed pan lol (this is what ive read from other girls).
so i arrived at manchester lifestyle hospital and taken to my room, and i have to admit i was very calm and relaxed (after having been worried sick for the last few days!)it was very nice considering it was a hospital!! i had my own ensuite room and flat screen tv. so after getting settled in the nurse came to see me to ask some health questions and take my weight and blood pressure.
about an hour later my surgeon mr traynor came to see me. originally he advised that i should have the 380cc overs, but i wanted to go bigger so he agreed to use the 410cc! which i was thrilled about, because i wasnt sure whether or not he’d be able to fit it in! he then drew all over me (by this point i was starting to get very nervous!) and told me i’d be going down to surgery within the hour! eek! shortly after the anathesatist came to see me to explain what would happen once i got down to theatre.
about 2.30pm the nurse took me down to theatre. i kissed my mum goodbye and off we went! im not gonna lie, i was absolutely crapping myself by this stage!! theres a number of operating rooms, one of which had its doors open so i could see one woman who had just been operated on lying unconscious in the room, this really didnt help my nerves lol! then i was directed into what i think was my operating room, and i could see tools everywhere. i totally panicked and was shaking! but the nurses were really soothing! they were great!
the anathesatist came in then with another nurse and i took off my dressing gown and slippers and lay on the bed. a needle was inserted into my hand and then the anathesetic was injected. its a really weird sensation, like icy liquid going up ur arm and u get a funny taste in ur mouth! but after about 5 seconds i was out!
the next thing i remember is waking up in recovery to a lovely make nurse! i couldnt stop shaking but the nurse advised this was just the anathesitic! but i didnt feel ill or anything, i was very much awake and fine :)
i wasnt wearing a sports bra at that point, so when i looked down i was gutted! my boobs looked tiny!! BUT when i got up to go to the toilet and had a proper look, i realised that the implants themselves were huge! theyre just really quite flat at the mo and more to the side of my boobs, but the nurse advised they would soften and drop eventually. i woke up with no swelling either.
the rest of the day was spent in bed relaxing and eating! lol the food was lovely and every hour or so the nurse would come in and check on me and give me more drugs. i swear the needle in my hand hurt more than my chest! my boobs are still numb, and my nipples are huge! its disgusting!! i just pray theyll go down!! about 9pm the nurse came in to put on my sports bra and put some ice on my chest. i fell asleep about 11pm but it wasnt a very comfortable night and the nurse kept coming in to take my blood pressure and give me pain killers!
today i woke up feeling really happy! my chest is still sore and tight and i feel tired, but im glad i got it done! and believe me, it was nowhere near as bad as i thought i would be! im feeling a little depressed this evening, cried a little. but apparently the anathestic can cause you to be quite emotional! but ah well, no pain no gain..literally!
so anyway sorry to bore you all with that epic message! but if any of you have any questions id be happy to answer! hope this gives you an idea of what to expect!

    :cry:Hello girls,
I am after a little help ,i had my ba on the 14 th july i went from a 32b and i am now wearing a 34dd sports bra.But i got a shock aborber thats a 34dd it fits fine but it is soooooooooo tight around my rib cadge ,so i took it off last night and put asda one on that was fine but not much surport, do you think i should stick with the shock aborber for now as it might be due to swelling ? as i beleive its important to have good surport just after ba .
I would be so greatful for your option i am sure i am not alone on this problem.

    thanx xx

hey, im wearing a 36D sports bra now. its a little tight too round the rib cage and a tiny bit big in the cup but im not too worried tbh. i also take it off for a few hours every day. my surgeon mr traynor advises some of his patients not to wear support bras at all as they can interfere with the scars. also breast drop quicker. so i wouldnt worry about it too much.
im not buying my shock absorber until after the swellings gone down. for now im just wearing a support bra from debenhams!

and mazzy, ur not totally naked. u wear paper knickers under ur gown, theyre rather see through but its better than nothing lol!
