MY PILL WHEN SHOULD I COME OFF?!?

Hi girls, my op is the end of the month but my pre op is on the 15th (just under two weeks before) and I’m worried if I should come off my pill now or wait until I see my nurse. The pill I am currently on is dianette. Could any of you girlies please help?

Hi Victoria I was told to come off the pill 4 weeks before at my pre op, my pre op was pretty much 4 weeks before so worked fine, and I think she said it was 2 weeks after xx

I’m on dianette too I’ve just stopped mine for my op, the nurse at my pre op told me 4 weeks before and 2 weeks after that i have to come off it. Will probably be the same for you! xx

I came off two weeks before, and they recommend you come off two weeks after too, but I started taking it again 4 days PO because I couldn’t stand it any longer, and I was fine. they say it to reduce the risk of clotting, but one pill is worse than all the others – Yasmin is the worst one for clotting, and I’m on Yasmin and was fine taking it. I think they just recommend it as a guideline. x

Thank you to everyone who replied. I messaged my pc and she asked the nurse for me and the nurse said it wouldn’t be a problem if I stayed on it until the day of my pre op, but just to rest my mind to come off it now! So 3 weeks before I’ve came off. Thanks for all your lovely replies making me at ease xx

Hey Victoria I was on dianette too. Told by my nurse 3 weeks before and 2 weeks after op, but with how the pill was I did 2 weeks before op ? I’m 4 days post op x
