My story, 17/10/2012 Droitwich Spa Hospital with Dr Schiavone

So, after nearly 2 months of waiting it was finally my time on Wednesday 17th of october 2012! My admission time at the Droitwich Spa Hospital was 7.45am which meant Me and the hubby would have to get up at 5am and be ready to drive to Birmingham at 6.15am, I am a morning person but I wasnt allowed a cuppa or brekkie so i was a little moody! 🙂
We arrived at the hospital at about 7.30 and had a short wait in the reception area until a memeber of staff showed me to my room, it was lovely, it looked like a small hotel room, very clean and tidy! I was given my sexy hospital gown and sexy paper knickers to put on. My hubby popped out for a sneaky McDonalds breakfast as he felt bad eating infront of me! and so he bloody should! 😉 Whilst the hubby was out, Dr Schiavone and the nurse came in to take pictures, draw on me and handed me the consent forms to sign. This was making me nervous!! I took a sneaky picture to see what Dr Schiavone had drawn on me and i have to say…It made my boobs look hideous!! And it also made me realise how much bigger my right boobie is compared to my left boobie! At this point i just wanted my new boobs and i was getting impatient! unfortunately for me i was third on the list!! The nurse came in and asked a load of questions, did some tests and handed me a sexy pair of stockings!
I had such a long wait, 6 hours to be exact!! I had watched Jeremy Kyle, This Morning and Loose Women! The hubby even had over an hour long nap due to tiredness and probably bordem!! I then started to feel sick, just as i was about to get up the door opened and in came a nurse who said the words i was longing to hear “we’re ready for you now!!” whoop, i was excited but also had that horrible nervous feeling in my tummy! My hubby walked me down to theatre and i said goodbye. I was then lead in to a room with a bed and the anesthatist was there, they were so friendly and was reassuring me that it would be over before i knew it. They injected me with something that made me feel drunk and i couldnt talk very well and then they put the mask over my face and told me to take deep breaths…..thats the last thing i remember!!
I then wake up with a sore throat, I can remember moaning and the nurse came straight over to me, she introduced herself and said that i have nice big boobies which made me smile 🙂 I then asked her what the time was, it was 16.50, so i was away from my room for just over 3 hours, which isnt bad considering i had a moderate mastopexy and a breast augmentation!
I was then wheeled back to my room for recovery where my hubby was waiting for me! I was drugged up and could hardly keep my eyes open but i did manage to put my tongue bar and my lip piercing back in!! result!! i was worried about my tongue piercing healing over! The feeling of the new boobies is weird, its a bit painful but mainly pressure on the chest, like a weight being placed on your chest. The staff amde sure i was as comfy and as pain free as i could be. The medicine did make me feel sick but thats because i was being stubborn and walked to the toilet on my own!
The nurses gave me a sedative for night time as i have a sleeping disorder which makes me hallucinate, the nurses were very understanding about my concerns and were very helpful in making my night stay at the hospital more comfortable. The tablets worked a charm and i slept right through the night and was woken up by the nurse who wanted to check my blood pressure. I was up and ready to leave to hospital at about 10 but i had to wait for my meds and for my drains to be removed, they werent as bad as i thought! the pulling the plaster off was worse than the actual drains coming out!! I was so impressed with the hospital staff that i asked my hubby to buy them a tin of choccies and a thank you card, they were shocked but very grateful for it 🙂 The journey home wasnt too bad, i ahd a few painful moments but that was only due to the road conditions! We made it home and i spent all day in my pj’s on the sofa! bliss! sleeping upright isnt too bad at the moment, it just takes a while to get the pillows in the correct position! I have been fairly pain free and moving around like normal, the only thing i cant do is wash/dry and straighten my own hair (my hubby helps me!).
I had my first nurse post op assesment today and she was impressed with the results! she said they were very symmetrical and the wounds were very neat! whoop to Dr schiavone!! My patient co-ordinator also wanted a sneaky peek at the new boobies and she was also very impressed and said they look amazing! im 3 days post op and they are looking good!!! im so happy with the whole experience and would reccommend having it done to anyone! I havent put up any pics yet as i have been busy but i will upload some at the start of next week! ive had 485 mod natrelle overs with a mod mastopexy, i was an empty 32d and hoping to be a full E!! 😉
