I thought i would update you all on my operation day as it helped me reading everyone’s stories on here.
I had my op on the 21st September at Preston with Mr Traynor, and I can honestly say the day ran so smoothly!
My admission time was 11 to which I arrived 15 mins early due to setting off a bit to early but they didn’t mind which i was happy about. I went to reception checked in and within 5 mins i was taking into my own room with my fiancé. We sat and waited a further 5 mins my nurse came in and did my blood pressure, ran through questions, give me some socks and did the pregnancy test (i was so nervous about this with not been on the pill, but I had been careful at one and doing various pregnancy tests each week to make sure).
I was chatting to the nurse and just relaxing really, the nurse left and said 45 mins and you will be going for surgery. So i was yey!! i couldn’t believe how quick it was till i was going down, i also had numbing cream on my hands due to me been a whimp when it comes to cannula and needles etc, so it was a must for me.
I went down for surgery and i was back out and back at my room for about 1.00 o clock. I couldn’t believe it, i was a bit dizzy and not completely with it which was expected! All i wanted was some food she brought me some custard creams and then i had a cheese sandwich, i’ve been very lucky and i haven’t been sick or anything like that. I left the hospital at about 5.00 o clock after they had done my obs so many times then it was time to leave. I left with all my pain killers and antibiotics and off i went to the hotel.
I was in a bit of pain the first night and i’m still in quite a bit of pain now, but i am not very good with pain so i’m taking my pain killers religiously! I had an ok night sleep last night which made me happy, but what a chew it is sleeping up right it’s a complete nightmare!???? But all be worth it in the long run.
I have had a wonderful experience with MYA and i hope it continues within my aftercare and when i go for my one week check up which is thursday at 12.00 in looking forward to that! Hopefully my pain eases off soon! If anyone has any questions just ask me i don’t mind!???????? xx
